Present and former heads of state from around the world, eminent religious leaders, peace ambassadors from various nations, representatives of all aspects of society, respected ladies and gentlemen:

I would like to thank you for participating in this profoundly significant conference, where we will explore fundamental issues regarding the realization of a world of peace, which is a common ideal shared by all humanity.

At this time when the need for peace and security is more acute and critical than ever before, we who are leaders in our various fields share a grave responsibility to resolve issues related to discord and war and to the evil and unhappiness derived from the world that holds God at a distance.

The God of True Love

In accordance with Heaven’s will, I have offered my life over the years to investigate the difficult issues facing humanity and offer a plan for implementing fundamental solutions. Today I would like to speak about a portion of this plan. The words I speak do not come from theological research or from any books. I speak rather of fundamental principles that I have learned through experience, as I overcame all manner of difficulties and communed directly with God and spirit world.

The path of following Heaven’s will in a state of empathy with God is not one that many people can find through common sense. I would like to tell you, however, that one who opens his or her original mind and exercises keen insight can discover a new consciousness by which to perceive the spirit world and the will of God, who lives and carries out His work in the world of reality.

This conference will not analyze the afflictions and despair of modern humanity nor the symptoms of crisis in the modern age, but rather will investigate the foundation for the ideal of peace. We can identify and treat the root of the disease. For this, we should know the original relationship between God and ourselves, a relationship that lies at the foundation of the universe, and enlighten ourselves as to the will of God who lives and carries out His providence in history.

God is the original entity of true love. True love has the attribute of unconditional giving and giving again, of investing and not remembering the investment and then investing again, and of living for the sake of others time and time again. The reason righteous people and evil people alike are allowed to breathe the same air within the atmosphere God created is that God, though He is all powerful, is the original entity of true love. This is also the reason that good people and sinners alike are able to carry on their lives by tilling the fields and enjoying the blessings of nature.

Exercising His almighty and absolute power, God at any time could carry out a summary judgment on sinful humanity, but He has embraced the world of sin with true love these long years, enduring the pain and waiting for us to repent. God, our Creator and Father, has been subjected to all manner of insults from those who refuse to believe in Him, who betray Him, and who go so far as to claim that He does not exist or is dead. In spite of all this, He has endured with an unchanging heart. Since God knew that love is perfected only with a partner, He has been working to build a world of love through His love partner.

Respected leaders, have any of you ever heard God complain? Have you ever met a God who gave excuses? In the beginning, God established true love as the absolute standard, and He took the lead in demonstrating absolute obedience to that ideal as He created and carried out His providence. Just as the ocean takes in all manner of sewage and garbage and then cleanses itself, God as the original entity of absolute true love cleanses the human world that deviated from the principles of His creation and works to bring this world to complete goodness.

God is the absolute True Parent, absolute True Teacher, and absolute True Owner centering on true love. So God needed an object partner to whom He could give His true love. This was His motivation for creating. God’s creation was a necessary act. The creative ideal of true love cannot be realized by a being existing alone. This ideal exists so that God can share with human beings the joy of His exalted and righteous will. When we understand the God of true love correctly, it is self-evident that this unhappy world of sin and strife was not His original plan.

God’s Ideal of Creation

God carried out His creative act with the utmost sincerity, dedication and investment. He established the standard of absolute faith, absolute love and absolute obedience, and then invested absolutely. All created beings are the object partner entities of love that God created by investing with ultimate sincerity.

Among these, God created human beings, the most precious of all beings, to have the closest relationship with Him, the relationship of child and parent. God is our incorporeal True Parent and we are His sons and daughters, or His substantial object partners.

In the world of true love, there is no difference in value between large and small or high and low. To be one in true love is to generously form a single harmonious entity with no bad feelings over the distinctions of upper and lower or among different strata. The unity that results between true subject and object partners will exist forever without interruption. So in true love, subject and object partners share a common value, common participation and common residence, and there is the right of inheritance between them. Thus human beings achieve completion within God’s love and inherit His position as absolute parents, absolute teachers and absolute owners.

In this way, God’s plan is to have His children, human beings, perfect the true love ideal and become one with Him, residing with Him and inheriting all that is His. True freedom and equality, true peace and unification, and true ideals and happiness can exist eternally only within true love. So true love is the fountainhead from which springs the power and life of all beings in creation, and it is the fountainhead of joy and happiness. True love is the absolute element that brings happiness, hope and peace.

Often, the relationship between God and humanity is viewed from the perspective of majesty and holiness, and it is concluded that God and humanity will exist in dramatically different dimensions for all time. Certainly, the Creator occupies a level that differs from His creation. And yet the original relationship that is most central and meaningful is the true love relationship between parent and child. True love makes unity possible in the relationship between internal character and external form and between male and female. Human beings were created to become one in heart with God, to share the same rank as God in true love, and to experience an inseparable parent-child bond with God that enables us to relate with Him through our strongest emotions in daily life. God’s ideal of creation entails His being perfected along with human beings, who would become His partners in love as His sons and daughters. This apotheosis is the accomplishment of the ideal of true love.

To summarize, God’s purpose in creating the human ancestors Adam and Eve was for them to establish a family of goodness that would bring to ripeness the fruit of God’s true love, true life and true lineage. With the family as their foundation, Adam and Eve were to nurture the heart of the children, heart of siblings, heart of husband and wife, and heart of parents. In the process, as discrete projections of God’s dual characteristics of masculinity and femininity they were to master God’s love step-by-step and bring it to safe settlement and perfection.

If the true love ideal centering on God had been created in this manner in Adam’s family, it would have become the first family of the Kingdom of Heaven. Also, the Kingdom of Heaven family ideal, centering at its origin on Adam and Eve as True Parents, would have expanded in scope naturally into tribes, peoples, nations and the world. The tradition of the family of true love would have become the tradition of the world.

In this world, the united center would be the incarnate True Parents, who resemble and inherit all the attributes of the spiritual absolute True Parent, absolute True Teacher, and absolute True Owner, God. In the Kingdom of Heaven of true love, the vertical axis is created by the incarnate True Parents who are one with God. Centering on this axis, all instances of upper and lower, left and right, front and back, and internal and external occurring among created entities are in harmony. Thus, all creation dwells in freedom, peace, unification and happiness.

When we come to the end of our life on earth in the physical body, our spirit self transitions into the spirit world, which is the ultimate world. It is an extension of our life on earth and also a place where we are to perfect the Kingdom of Heaven ideal. If this had come to pass in the beginning, there would have been no need for God’s salvation providence through religions or the advent of the Messiah.

The Human Ancestors’ Fall and the Providence of Restoration

Unfortunately, as a result of the fall of Adam and Eve, God’s intended Kingdom of Heaven ideal in Adam’s family was not realized. This was because Adam and Eve became false parents when they indulged in false love centering on Satan. They formed a false husband-wife partnership and false family that had no relation to God’s blessing, and bequeathed false life and false lineage to their descendants. They left God in grief, with the original lineage altered by the enemy, Satan.

In this way, they lost God and did not establish the temple in which they were to have lived in attendance to God. In fact, their bodies became the den of Satan’s devils, and their spiritual desire to seek absolute value shut down, rendering them incapable of knowing about the spirit world, which is the ultimate world. Because the first human ancestors deformed themselves, all human beings as their descendants never knew that God is our True Father. We inherited Satan’s selfish desires and lived unrighteous, self-centered lives parading our fallen nature. Not even knowing that human beings were created as brothers and sisters to attend one God, we lived in sin, strife and dispute. We do not know that to kill another is to kill oneself, and so we live in unhappiness.

The world inherits the tradition of Adam’s family in which Cain killed his own brother Abel. The outcome for us descendants of false love is the unhappiness, sin and ruin seen in family breakdown, the moral degradation of youth, and diseases such as AIDS.

Look at the world. The acute crisis of the modern age is manifested in mind-body struggle, the confusion of values, criminality, drug abuse, the breakdown of the family that holds humanity’s future in the balance, the destruction of the environment, conflict and hatred, terror and war, and even conflict between religions and civilizations. With each passing day, this crisis becomes more serious, more complex and more pervasive. We can no longer stand by and do nothing as the world careens forward on this course. There is no time left. Who can take responsibility for this world? Where is the leader who will present a fundamental plan to solve the world’s problems?

At the same time that human beings lost God, we also lost true love, peace and happiness. Throughout history, we have tried to liberate ourselves from unhappiness and achieve peace on our own, excluding God from the process. Such efforts were fundamentally flawed. We cannot defuse the crisis through human effort alone. True peace and happiness have their origin in God’s true love, true life and true lineage.

God is absolute and so His will for the creation is also absolute. This means that God is working to reverse what went wrong as a result of the fall and return back to the original state. So God’s providence of salvation is a providence of restoration. Its purpose is to recover the original world that existed prior to the fall. In other words, God’s purpose is to establish a restored Adam and Eve, or True Parents, centering on true love. It is to establish the original true world by having them receive the marriage blessing. Once that is accomplished, their true family will be the point of origin for true tribes, peoples, nations and the world.

Respected leaders, following God’s call through indescribable hardship, I have established the foundation for peace to settle in various fields of life. More than 30 years ago, I founded the Unification Thought Institute and began to guide the field of philosophy. Since 1972, I have sponsored nearly 30 global meetings of the International Conference on the Unity of the Sciences, for the purpose of exploring absolute value and creating harmony and unity among the various fields of learning. I founded and have continuously supported a movement for peace transcending individual nations; this movement for peace includes the work of the Professors World Peace Academy, the Summit Council for World Peace, the International Federation for Victory Over Communism, CAUSA, the Federation for World Peace, the Federation of Island Nations for World Peace, the Federation of Peninsular Nations for World Peace, the Federation of Continental Nations for World Peace, and the Citizens’ Federation for the Unification of the Fatherland. I have also promoted culture and the arts, fostered peace through sports, and developed elementary, middle school, high school and university level educational institutions. I founded and supported the Women’s Federation for World Peace, various media organizations for the purpose of bringing about responsible and ethical journalism, the Collegiate Association for the Research of Principles, the Youth Federation for World Peace, the Pure Love Alliance, international conferences on the environment, the International Relief and Friendship Foundation, Service for Peace, the Religious Youth Service, the voluntary service organization Aewon, the World Association of Non-Governmental Organizations, and the Holy Blessing and true family movement. I have supported efforts to renew the United Nations for the sake of achieving God’s desire for peace. These are some of the initiatives for national and worldwide salvation that I have instituted around the globe. I have pursued these efforts continuously, without funding from any government or major corporation, even in the midst of unsympathetic public opinion and outright persecution. All I had, as I worked to lay the foundation for the establishment of the ideal world, was my determination to fulfill the mission of humanity’s True Parent that God entrusted to me, and to accomplish God’s will.

In bringing about the ideal of peace implicit in God’s true love, it is most important that the various religions achieve harmony with each other and provide a model for the world. Withstanding the cold-hearted attitudes and persecution by narrow-minded religious bodies in various countries, I have laid my greatest emphasis on creating a movement for unity and cooperation among religions, nations and NGOs. I have offered all manner of sacrifice as I did everything that I could to build one world in this area, including founding an interdenominational seminary, the New Ecumenical Research Association, the Council for the World’s Religions, the Youth Seminar on World Religions, the Assembly of the World’s Religions, publishing World Scripture: A Comparative Anthology of Sacred Texts, continuously supporting conferences for harmony among religions, and founding the Inter-Religious Federation for World Peace.

Taking this a step further, I founded the Interreligious and International Federation for World Peace (IIFWP) as an overarching structure for unification and world peace that would go beyond the goal of harmony among the religions and embrace leaders in the fields of academia, politics, journalism, finance, and NGO’s, where foundations have already been laid.

Since the founding of IIFWP in February 1999, we have appointed tens of thousands of leaders in a wide variety of fields from 189 countries as Ambassadors for Peace. Reflecting my philosophy of peace, these ambassadors are practicing true love by living for the sake of others, and are engaged in many important activities that help to break down barriers between nations, races and religions. Their practical activities range from AIDS prevention and service projects, to true family development, youth and leadership education, and environmental improvement.

Godism and Headwing Thought

My philosophy is Headwing Thought based on Godism. This thought places God, the standard of absolute value and our True Parent, True Teacher and True Owner, in the absolute center. When human beings live in accordance with the Three Great Subject Body Thought, attending God in our life in the spirit world and on earth as our True Parent, True Teacher and True Owner, and living as His object partners, this will be the Kingdom of Heaven and the place where true love is practiced.

We had better overcome atheistic and Communist philosophies that deny God and the spirit world, as well as the secular humanism and moral relativism that ignore the importance of absolute value and the vertical standard. It is time to overcome the hypocritical faith in God’s name that lacks true love, and abandon all selfish works that violate original human rights and result in injustice. The Headwing Thought that I propose transcends right and left wing, breaks down the walls between countries, races and religions, and brings about a broad and unified harmony centering on the absolute God. This task should be carried out with the help of both heaven and earth. We are in a great transition, and during this time the United Nations and the nations of the world must unite and cooperate with one another.

Modern society is a world lacking an ideology or system of absolute philosophy. There are no absolute values that apply with consistency to individuals, families, societies, nations, the world and the cosmos. This is the reason that thinking has become confused, human relationships disordered, and human society chaotic. Facing unreflective pluralism and modernization, and without a basic axis in their hearts and daily lives, people in the modern age suffer an ever-worsening confusion of values.

We face endless temptations to live in slavery to the physical appetites and drift through life aimlessly, but we must never turn away from a life based on values. Absolute value is our vertical axis. The center of absolute value is God’s true love expressed in living for the sake of others.

Respected leaders, I will tell you right now that peace is not something that is realized first in the external world. It is realized first in each individual. It requires first that there be individuals who have achieved harmonious unification within. As a result of the fall, conflict arose between mind and body. To control human beings, Satan uses the body as his stronghold. He has turned us away from our original nature and our spiritual nature and toward the satisfaction of selfish and individualistic needs. The only path to escape Satan’s dominion lies within God’s true love lineage.

If you live unselfishly for the sake of others and work for the sake of others, Satan will not be able to follow you. This is because Satan is essentially selfish. This is why fallen human beings can change their character and recover their spiritual nature through the practice of God’s true love. Our faith cannot be in a conceptual God; we need a true faith that connects us to the living God.

Because God originally created us as the object partners of His true love, we are able to practice this true love naturally. Values such as truth, goodness and beauty appear in the practice of love. People whose minds and bodies have become one in God’s true love are individual embodiments of truth, happiness and tranquility, satisfaction and peace. Such subject bodies of character are prerequisite for a world of peace.

Second, no institutions or power, material or knowledge, or any other external factors will bring about the world of peace. Only the true love of living for the sake of others will accomplish it. True peace, unification and happiness cannot be found apart from a loving relationship of living for the sake of others. This is the basic principle of God’s creation. Unconditional giving, investing and loving for the sake of an object partner are both the cause and purpose of God’s creation.

God created us in His image, as beings whose purpose is to live for the sake of others. It is only by living for the sake of others that people can become central beings, become subject entities of peace and unification, and become the eternal owners of love and ideals. We can find the path to meet God, our absolute True Parent, True Teacher and True Owner, receive His inheritance, and then ourselves become true parents, true teachers and true owners, only in a life of true love and of living for the sake of others. On the path of true love, parties overcome conflict and division naturally, harmonizing and uniting the environment. This is not conquest through struggle; instead, it is a path of natural subjugation bringing eternal unification.

Third, the basic unit of the world of peace is not the nation; it is the peaceful family. The basic unit is the family formed by a man and a woman who have the character to attend God, a man and woman who have each accomplished harmonious mind-body union and are joined by God in His Holy Blessing. These are the first blessed families in history, established through the True Parents. These are peaceful and happy families. True love joins their members in harmonious union. When these families multiply, they will bring about a world of peaceful tribes, peoples and nations. In God’s original ideal, humankind is one family under one God and the cosmos is one family centering on true love. The place of resolution for the problems of the family centering on True Parents is the foundation for the world of peace. In the ideal world of blessed families based on true love, there can be no barriers of nationality, race or religion.

Respected leaders, humanity is to find God and escape from our ignorance concerning our spiritual True Parent. Living within the eternal and profound order of this universe that manifests His omniscience and omnipotence, we shall never again make the mistake of having ingratitude to our Creator for His magnificent accomplishments. Fallen humanity is to rid itself of the arrogance that says we are the owners of our own life. Instead, we will nurture an enlightened spirituality in the presence of the absolute nature of God’s true love.

God is our True Parent. It is time to discover the living God, whose heart to invest greater true love is firm, absolute and eternal. We need to know the heart of God, who created humanity as the object partner who would inherit His absolute, unique, unchanging and eternal true love, true life and true lineage completely.

In this way, we will establish God — the absolute True Parent, True Teacher and True Owner — and the True Parents as the axis of absolute value for the individual, family, nation, world and cosmos. This will be the basis for our life as individuals, families, nations and the world. We will feel the desire to follow without change for eternity the path of tradition set by the Parents of Heaven and Earth, the path of living in true love for the sake of others. If we do that, then we can resolve all problems, whether of the family, society, race or religion.

We will arrive in an age in which God and humankind live as one in the original ideal world, the world of heart. We will arrive in an age where we realize that living for the sake of others holds greater eternal value than living for ourselves. The blind age of self-centered life will pass away, as we build an other-centered world of interdependence, mutual prosperity and universally shared values. For this purpose, let us attain correct knowledge about God and the spirit world; let us lead humanity on the correct path by testifying to the world about God’s true love, true life and true lineage; and let us build the universal family of Heaven and Earth in God’s fatherland and homeland on earth. Let us complete the Kingdom of Heaven on Earth and in Heaven through the absolute love, unique love, unchanging love and eternal love that seeks to live for the sake of others, and offer Heavenly Kingship to God.

Respected leaders of religion, politics, and academia from around the world, renowned diplomats and ambassadors of peace!

We gathered here together with our hearts yearning for world peace. On this profoundly significant occasion, as the Founder of the Interreligious and International Federation for World Peace, I would like to convey a message regarding God’s original ideal. The title is, “God’s Fatherland and the One World.”

Why We Must Establish His Kingdom

God has spoken of “His Kingdom and His righteousness,” but people living on the Earth today have not been able to find it. It is important to know that humanity today, as for the past thousands of years of human history, has fervently desired the establishment of God’s Kingdom and His righteousness.

How is it, then, that the Kingdom and the Righteousness that we have fervently desired remain unfulfilled goals? The reason is that human beings committed the fall. As a result of the human fall, God and humanity, who originally could have formed the center of His Kingdom and His righteousness, found themselves in circumstances that prevented their forming a relationship with each other. Human beings did not know much about our Father, the center of His Kingdom or His righteousness. Hence, God has labored throughout the course of history to illuminate these ignorant people and teach us about Himself. In this context, establishing His Kingdom and His righteousness remains our fervent desire and goal.

There exist many nations in today’s world. Yet, not even one can truly receive love from God. For this reason, God wants to negate this fallen world and recreate His new Kingdom. God has conducted His providence to establish a nation. God cannot accomplish His will for human restoration without cooperation from a nation. There must be a true state that is centered on true religion. Hence, in the fullness of time, God established a particular nation and religion, the chosen people of Israel and Judaism.

What is the character of the nation that fulfills our fervent desire for the Kingdom of God? It is not like the nations in which you now are living. Someday, we will have to leave these nations. We do not yet have God’s Kingdom. A person without a nation does not have a permanent domicile, a nationality, or the possibility to register as a citizen. For this reason, we must accomplish the establishment of God’s Kingdom in the present world. We must construct the heavenly kingdom on the earth. We must live on the earth as citizens of this nation. In that nation we lead our own families and kin, and inherit the lineage of the true and good parents who love their country and their nation as victorious sons and daughters. In that way only will we enter the Kingdom of Heaven in the heavenly world. This is God’s Principle.

Only when there is a nation will we be able to bequeath a tradition that remains with our descendents into eternity. Only when there is a nation will the blood and sweat we shed live on. Only when there is a nation will men and women build a monument praising Heaven for God’s work on this earth, and will every trace of glory remain. If there is no nation, it all will have been for nothing. This is why we must understand that the establishment of God’s Kingdom is our most important task.

We must live with the constant conviction that “Our family is protecting the nation that is qualified to receive the love of the True Parents. So I must be a filial child of the True Parents and fulfill the way of the patriot for the nation.” It means that we must receive the love of God and True Parents. We cannot receive God’s love unless we have a nation. This is because only after we have been victorious over Satan’s rule over the nation can God’s Kingdom be established.

God’s Kingdom is the Cherished Desire of All People

We cherish God’s Kingdom. Why is this? It is because it is the place where there is true love. It is the place where we can find a love that is not transitory but lives eternally, transcending time. Also, it is the place where we can be lifted up, and where our value is recognized to the fullest extent. It is the place where we can be happy eternally. These are the reasons that people yearn for the Heavenly Kingdom and long to see it.

We must travel the path that we truly want to travel, and we must build the nation in which we want to live for all eternity. If we possess riches, they must be only those that are guaranteed to belong to the cosmos at the same time that they belong to us, and to belong to the past and future at the same time that they belong to the present. We must also possess the authority and knowledge such that when we weep, heaven and earth will weep with us, and when we are joyful, heaven and earth can share our joy. This is the highest desire and cherished hope that fallen humanity must establish in the present age.

True man and woman should be able to live in his or her own nation. This is an absolute right and requirement bestowed on human beings. Everyone without exception must live a life filled with a cherished desire for God’s Kingdom and His righteousness. This means that we must paint a picture of the ideal world with our thoughts, and follow the path of living for the sake of His Kingdom and His righteousness with our lives.

Do you have such a nation? Because you do not, you must now establish such a nation. What kind of nation did I say this would be? It will be a nation of ideals, a nation of unity. It will be a nation that all people can enter. In the task of all people to establish this nation; no one is excluded. The family, clan, nation, and world all will cooperate. This is how each individual can become unified internally, and establish unity within families, clans, societies, nations, and the world.

God must accomplish the purpose of His providence on the earth without fail. What, then, will be the result? It is that God saves all people as His children and exercise His dominion over the world. The purpose of the providence cannot be anything other than the hope for this to come to pass.

If you are unable to complete the task of restoring a nation on the earth, then in the spirit world you will not possess the value of a true person of the Kingdom of Heaven. You must take with you to the next life the achievement and qualification of having been ruled under God’s dominion on earth. This is the original standard of God’s creation.

I envy nothing of this world. I have no interest in the things of this world. My lifelong cherished desire has been this: “Shouldn’t I be able to die in a nation where God can protect me? If I do not bring this about during my lifetime, then will not mine have been a miserable life? I must establish this nation before I die and live there, even if only for a single day.”

For the sake of that single day, I am willing to invest the sacrifices made over thousands of days. You might rest, because you do not understand these things, but I keep going. Even if you cannot do it, I still must do it, even if it requires mobilizing people from other countries. If one nation cannot do it, I must work through other countries to carry out an indirect strategy.

What is the purpose of our faith? It is that we become citizens of God’s Kingdom. If we are not citizens of His Kingdom, we are not free to relate with pride to all people and the creation, and receive their love. A person without a nation is always vulnerable. He stands in a pitiful position. He may suffer unjustly for any number of reasons. This is why we need to know where to find the nation of God’s desire, that is, the nation that will serve as God’s foothold in the world. This is the essential issue.

Ultimately, we should be able to shed blood and sweat for the sake of the people of this nation, for the sake of building the eternal heavenly kingdom, and for the sake of building a prosperous society for which our descendents will sing praise through all eternity.

Without a doubt, the children of God’s direct lineage will exercise kingly authority in this nation, based on their mandate from Heaven, commands that carry God’s full authority. This Kingdom will recognize democracy and Communism as failed attempts. Once formed, this Kingdom will endure forever.

When you consider this, aren’t you distressed about not being citizens of this Kingdom? I believe we should be lamenting the fact that we are not able to live in such a nation. We must repent that we have not acquired this unique and unchanging kingship.

In order to establish such a kingship, nation, and territory, God has established numerous kingdoms throughout human history. We know that during this process, many people died, many common people were sacrificed, many countries were destroyed, and royal authority changed hands many times. Among the people who were sacrificed, there can be no doubt that those on Heaven’s side, the sorrowful souls who were sacrificed for this purpose, still long for the establishment of such a Kingdom and such a world.

God’s Providence to Establish His Kingdom

We have come to know that after the human fall, Satan, not God, exercised dominion over history. God, however, was originally supposed to be the master of this world. If clans and states formed by families of God’s direct children had built the world, and if they had maintained the relationship of love with God, then God would have been able to exercise His dominion over the world, over every nation, over every family, and over every individual. Because of the human fall, however, all individuals, families, clans, societies, nations, and the world now stand in opposition to God. This is the history and world brought about by the fall.

If we leave the world as it is, the world of eternal true love expressing God’s ideal of creation will not come about. But because God, as the Absolute Being, cannot establish His original authority unless He accomplishes His original Will, He has used His position as the standard to bring the world of evil under control and lead it to become the true world of His original ideal. This has been God’s providence with respect to the fallen world.

There are many nations on the earth today that belong to the fallen sovereignty, but there is not even one that is aligned with God’s fervent desire. In order to establish a nation through which He can accomplish His will, God worked through history to guide people without their awareness. God created Adam and raised him toward perfection with the desire to have one being through whom He could exercise dominion over all families, societies, and the world. As a result of Adam’s fall, however, the history that began in oneness was broken into innumerable pieces. The history of salvation has been a process of arranging and connecting all the pieces.

Since Adam was the ancestor of all human beings, losing Adam as a single individual was the same as losing the entire whole. So God needs to call and establish Adam again. The person who is established must be a true man who is able to forsake and forget his clan and nation of this satanic world, and live exclusively for God’s Will.

Ladies and gentlemen, ultimately, all religions share a common purpose to accomplish the Will of God. To take an example that you are familiar with, we can see this in the history of Judeo-Christianity.

Although Noah was situated in a national environment, he did not desire to be associated with that. He was associated with a country, but he was not limited by the confines of his country. He reached out beyond his country to establish the country of his fervent desire.

For him to establish the country of his fervent desire, it was necessary to pass through all manner of ordeals and adversity. Noah had his relatives, and he had his people, but he put a higher value on seeking the nation of God’s Will.

God’s hope for Noah was that he would seek His kingdom and His righteousness, and that he would overcome his own individual environment. Can you imagine the suffering and sorrow that Noah must have experienced as he passed through his 120-year ordeal, day after day through spring, summer, autumn, and winter? Even his family abandoned him, but Noah accepted all the arrows thrust at him, and endured for 120 years.

Noah knew well the principle that if he ate and drank before seeking His kingdom and His righteousness, then he would later have to indemnify everything.

God established Abraham and Sarah and brought them out of Ur of the Chalde’ans. They did not know that Haran was the place where they were to live, but they trusted God unconditionally and set out for this place with a heart of obedience.

Even when Pharaoh took Sarah, she never condemned Abraham. In this way, the heart of these two people as they traveled toward the nation of their desire was such that even the most severe persecution did not cause them to waver from their purpose.

Jacob had the conviction that the nation and people of his desire were promised to him by the blessing given to him, and no one could break that conviction. In this way, the prophets have had a desire that began with the individual and, over time, has grown to the family, clan, and finally worldwide levels. Because of Israel’s unbelief and persecution, Jesus was forced to become a wanderer, and he was not able to accomplish his fervent desire in both spirit and flesh.

But the Messiah comes with the mission to break down all barriers in Heaven and earth, and to establish a single unified nation. God wills absolutely that we establish the principled state required by heavenly law, and that states structured by principles of the fallen world pass away. God’s fervent hope in Adam was not confined to Adam as an individual, but extended to bring about a family, clan, society, nation and world from Adam.

When the Messiah’s efforts to build a true nation shattered, Israel suffered enormously. So the Lord who comes again is responsible to perfect Adam and fulfill the mission of the Messiah. This person is responsible to perfect the family, clan, society, nation and world rooted in Adam.

God sent His beloved sons and daughters to the earth to push history forward, toward establishing the nation that is absolutely one. But at the present moment there is no prepared foundation on which the one nation can be restored. Because of the repeated failures of fallen humanity, God has sent heavenly persons to the earth to carry out, push forward, and accomplish this task throughout history. This has been the history of the providence of restoration.

We must be grateful, even if God sacrifices us as individuals. Even if He sacrifices our families, clans, societies and nations, we must be grateful. Only when such a true individual and a true nation are created can order be brought to the new world. If God’s Kingdom cannot be built on the foundation of sacrifices made by an individual, then the sacrifice must extend again past the individual to the family, clan, people, nation and the world.

As He carried out the providence to establish His Kingdom, even God has been governed by this principle. Thus His strategy is that if an individual were to appear who could live for the sake of the Kingdom, then the family that inherited this person’s individual tradition would make the next sacrifice for the sake of the Kingdom, and then a clan, people and nation would inherit the tradition of this family and sacrifice themselves for the sake of the Kingdom. This is how God has carried out the providence to establish His Kingdom.

For what purpose were we born on this earth? We were born to love God’s Kingdom. Also, God’s love for that Kingdom has motivated Him in carrying out His providence.

Jesus and God’s Kingdom

Citizens of a nation that has no sovereignty are in a pitiful situation. This concerned Jesus, and so he told us: “Therefore do not be anxious, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ For the Gentiles seek all these things; and your heavenly Father knows that you need them all. But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things shall be yours as well.” (Matthew 6: 31-33) Did he say we should seek after having a son first? Or was it God’s Kingdom? Jesus told us to seek after the Kingdom that God seeks. God’s fervent desire to establish His Kingdom and His righteousness cannot be accomplished apart from human beings and the creation. In fact, it is only through human beings and the creation that it can be accomplished. God desires to be harmonized with the creation through true human beings. That is why God sent Jesus to this earth as a substantial being who could represent the Lord before fallen humanity and bring forth Heaven’s lineage. Jesus was the first person who had the purpose of accomplishing God’s fervent historical desire on earth.

Jesus was God’s son, the first established in this position after 4,000 years of preparation. He was the son of God living on the earth in the midst of a nation centering on Judaism with the seed of the family of Joseph. The satanic side already had established nations and was attacking the side of Heaven, so Heaven’s side also needed a national standard on a complete foundation. That is why God labored for 4,000 years to form that single nation out of the evil world. The fruit of God’s labor was to have come by the people of Israel accepting Jesus and forming a worldwide foundation. This was to have led to the establishment of a world centered completely on God and Jesus on earth. Because Jesus died prematurely, however, this world was established only spiritually.

Centering on his three-year public life, Jesus attempted to indemnify everything that had been lost centering on Judaism. Jesus was crucified, however, and Israel, which had been established as a substantial body on the earth, as God’s national foundation in both spirit and flesh, also perished. Because Jesus was killed, Christianity could achieve only the spiritual foundation of a nation, and the Israelites became a people without a nation, forced to wander the world as an object of derision from the satanic world. This is why we cannot find a nation that is truly Christian in spirit and flesh. So the Lord who comes again must restore the 4,000-year providence by which God created the nation of Israel, and restore all that was lost through the disbelief of the Israelites that resulted from their ignorance.

Jesus came to establish a nation, one nation. He was not able to establish this nation both in spirit and flesh; he established it only in spirit. That is why Christianity today does not have a substantial nation on the earth. This means that God cannot turn to any nation or any people on earth and say, “My beloved nation, my beloved people.” This tells us that the foundation for God’s Kingdom has not yet been built on this earth. If at the time of Jesus, the nation of Israel had become one centering on Jesus, then that nation would have been God’s Kingdom centering on His son, Jesus, and God would have restored the world centering on that nation. As a result of Jesus’ death, that is, as a result of the loss of the substantial body, the foundation to connect spirit and flesh on the earth could bear fruit only spiritually.

Until now Christians have been like a people without a country, so they have suffered death everywhere they have gone. Christianity grew through the blood of martyrs. Because of the manner in which Christianity was planted in the world, it could not grow except by the blood of martyrs. Now the time of shedding blood and receiving persecution is over. Instead of dying away and disappearing, however, there has appeared a thought that yearns for God’s Kingdom and eagerly awaits the coming Lord in order to establish the lost substantial nation on the basis of Christianity’s spiritual foundation. This is the thought of the Second Coming.

Even Jesus is waiting in Paradise. We need to know that he has not yet gone before Heaven’s throne. Jesus needed to establish national sovereignty before God, rule over a nation, and build a nation that would possess the authority to go directly from earth to Heaven. Because he was not able to build such a nation, Jesus cannot stand before God. So Paradise became the “waiting room” on the way to Heaven. Heaven is a place where no one can enter alone. If the fall had not occurred, we would have gone to Heaven as blessed families, centering on Adam and Eve. We must go there along with our sons and daughters.

In order to restore this through indemnity, God has fought for 2,000 years to build a foundation that can connect to the world. Where there is no national standard, though, who will inherit the foundation of the nation? To find such spiritual people and make the necessary preparations, God has worked through a new religious movement centering on Christianity.

Respected religious leaders: As humanity enters the third millennium, it is receiving heavenly fortune anew. I hope that all religious people will join their hearts together and follow through on my proposal to establish an assembly within the United Nations composed of representatives from various religions, parallel with the General Assembly. If there is one lofty task that the United Nations can perform for the sake of humankind, it would be to contribute to humanity’s spiritual recovery on the foundation of God’s true love.

For this purpose, I have chosen leaders of good conscience from not only the religious field but also from government, philosophy, business, culture and other fields, and provided true love education that teaches “to live for the sake of others.” On this foundation, I have already appointed tens of thousands of Ambassadors for Peace. All around the world, they carry the banner of the Interreligious and International Federation for World Peace that I founded. They are devoting their full efforts to bringing about the world of peace that is the fervent desire of God and humankind. It will not be long before the will of the almighty, omniscient and absolute God is accomplished.

I would like to conclude my remarks by asking that the leaders assembled here also become active participants in recreating your families, nations and the God-desired original world in true love and in bringing about an everlasting world of peace where there are no national boundaries.

I pray that Heaven’s blessing may overflow in abundance upon you and your families. Thank you.

Hoon Dok Hae: The Life and Love of Jesus Christ [This book in not available in English yet, to my knowledge.]

Hoon Dok Hae: Why did God give Jesus to Satan to crucify? So that Jesus could win the surrender of Satan and win the love of God. He offered his body on behalf of all fallen people. In so doing, Jesus showed true love that is not present in the fallen world; therefore he could overcome Satan. Satanic love is always for the individual’s own purpose.

The Jews believed in God and were seeking His nation based on their faith. God sent Jesus to accomplish this expectation. Therefore Jesus said he was king of kings, and the bridegroom of the Jewish people who were to be his bride. This was so that the Jews would create the realm of life, as a couple does through their unity in the family. Therefore Jesus promised the Holy Spirit would come down after the crucifixion. The Holy Spirit coming means that parental love will come to the people.

‘The way, the truth and the life’ means the way of love, truth of the cross, and the life of all human beings.

There was nothing for Satan to accuse in Tamar, therefore Jesus had a different root, a condition to restore elder son ship in the womb. He could proclaim himself as God’s son without any condition for accusation.

God created Adam and Eve with soil, so the messiah, the second Adam, should have elements of the soil, like the original Adam and Eve. Therefore, he has to be born as a physical man.

Mary had absolute faith to receive Jesus in her womb. Those who believe in God should put their life behind it. Christians should go this way. Christians who do not put their life on the line for God and Jesus cannot open the door to heaven. Believers should practice absolute faith.

When Mary received the angel’s revelation, she went to the Zechariah’s house for counsel. Zechariah’s wife, Elizabeth, was pregnant with John the Baptist. When Mary visited their home, Elizabeth testified that Mary was going to give birth to the messiah. This was her testimony to the messiah. Thus, the couples of Zechariah and Mary were central.

Jesus was conceived in Zechariah’s family home. God has to abide by the principle of creation. He had already created the means to become pregnant, by the coming together of man and woman. So, becoming pregnant in Zechariah’s home, who should be the father? Elizabeth was Zechariah’s wife; in that sense, Mary was a prostitute, or, actually, second wife. The messiah should be the child of a second; this is related to the restoration situation. Satan took the elder, so to set His blood lineage God could not start with the elder, but had to go from the bottom to top. So He had to work through the second wife’s body to create His son, Jesus.

So Elizabeth, Mary and Zechariah and John the Baptist should have served Jesus. This is why John is called Elijah. Mary was in Rachel’s position and Elizabeth in Leah’s position. In Zechariah’s family, Elizabeth should have restored the failure of Leah to submit to the younger wife. By Elizabeth doing so, Mary could become pregnant. But later, Elizabeth could not ‘receive that situation.’ And the younger brothers and sisters of Jesus had the original sin because they were conceived in the normal way, not the providential way.

Jesus asked Mary to help him get married, but Mary could not understand that this was God’s providence. What kind of person can be the center of hope? Jesus said he was the way, truth and life.

True Father: Even so, he couldn’t express or reveal that he was love itself. With life, the truth and the way, Jesus couldn’t complete or perfect love. Perfection comes only by the completion of love. Without man and woman together, one cannot achieve perfection. Jesus could not go that way, but died on the individual path. He had no chance to have the feeling of love. He missed the most important fact, love. He should have expressed, ‘I am the way, truth, life and love.’

In the last days, it is the same as in Jesus’ time. The elder and younger should exchange positions. The second messiah should make his way from the bottom to the top, the individual to the cosmos, through indemnity. This is why I have gone the way of total indemnity. So even if the satanic world tries to kill him, he has to go the way of indemnity. As a child you get your parents’ signature to go to heaven, through indemnity. You have to indemnify Adam’s family and all central figures’ families in God’s history.

If you understand this, you can understand how difficult it is for True Parents to accomplish the way of indemnity. Historical central figures accomplished it conditionally, but I have to pass through the conditions and accomplish real restoration. Once I do, then Satan cannot help but come and surrender before True Parents. This is the difference between True Parents and all historical central figures. Once I do it, I can deal with all people throughout the spirit world and this world.

So you have to go beyond making conditions and establish the substantial foundation to restore your situation. I bequeathed the condition based on my substantial foundation, but you cannot even restore the conditional foundation. I stand on the foundation of the completion of indemnity, and you should be the princes who inherit this victory. As I go the substantial way of indemnity, you should go through the conditional level. If you can’t, I have to gather you in spirit world and educate you again.

By establishing the substantial foundation through indemnity, .. Even if you believe in True Parents, you still have to go the way of ‘substantial restoration through indemnity.’ You can get into the conditional heaven, but it is not so easy to get into the substantial heaven. Without believing and serving True Parents as your substantial parents, even if you believe and follow, without achieving the perfection of attendance, you cannot do well in the substantial heaven.

Only on that foundation can God bless the descendents of the archangel. What then, should you do? Once you believe and follow me, you cannot become one with True Parents substantially. So you have to go the way of substantial indemnity, by serving and attending True Parents 100%. Therefore Jesus said you have to leave your parents, brothers and sisters, and give all the wealth you have. Otherwise you cannot open the door of heaven.

You American members, what is your attitude in following me? Never look back on your life. How can you liberate hell? Only focus on your mission, nothing else. Then you can inherit True Parents’ power and open the way to heaven. There is no owner of Korea, Japan or America. Who could be the owner to construct God’s nation? Only True Parents. Therefore, as disciples of True Parents, you have to resemble True Parents. So don’t expect to get salvation just by making a condition. You have to form a substantial foundation to get into heaven, centering on True Parents’ teaching and experience. You should stand on the center to show the bright light to light up the dark area.

This is why I proclaimed the Chun Il Guk, the equality of the Chun Il Guk. Everyone has the same value and true equality. Those who achieve absolute faith, love and obedience are able to share true equality based on one mind, one body and one desire, achieving absolute faith, love and obedience. Indemnify the satanic boundary first by a condition, then get into the substantial heaven by going the way of substantial indemnity on this earth. Work the substantial indemnity way like True Parents. ‘Don’t go the general way like other people in America.’ Confront the moment at which you put your life on the line. Passing through that several times, you can practice this substantial condition. In the past, at this kind of moment I was able to proclaim the victories one by one, and we are now confronted with the Chun Il Guk.

God’s nation should be based on the Cain and Abel relationship. To form God’s nation, the Israelites were Cain and Jesus was Abel. You are Abel and have to restore your tribe in the Cain position. Once you accomplish this, you will be able to enter the Chun Il Guk. Without establishing the family, tribal and cosmic levels, God cannot dwell in this world as heaven.

At the last moment of the history of restoration, the substantial way of indemnity should come, and centering on True Parents, all central blessed families should accomplish this way of indemnity. Even if heaven exists, if you cannot form the family and tribal levels of heaven, then heaven cannot connect with your family and tribe. You have to go dual ways, conditional and substantial. Now is the time to go the substantial way. This is the condition to be the owner of the Chun Il Guk. Chun Il Guk citizens should take responsibility for all the reality of the real world.

Human beings fell in a certain area, and so the blessed central families should possess a certain area, like the Garden of Eden. Take responsibility for it substantially, not conditionally. So far, following me, you accomplished conditions, but now it has to be substantial, in terms of the Chun Il Guk concept. So you cannot inherit True Parents’ foundation just through a conditional foundation. To inherit True Parents’ victory, you need a substantial foundation. Without restoring your nation, everything is a condition. Centering on the nation, Satan is against God. That’s we have to form the nation as the substantial foundation. Then you will be a substantial citizen.

Your family should stand as Jesus’ family and God’s family condition; this is the concept of the Chun Il Guk. So you have to resemble Jesus’ way, as he prayed in Gethsemene for God’s will to be done, not his own. So follow Jesus’ desire, centered on God’s will. In Korea there is an election, and if one candidate just accepted me and put my name on their activities, then immediately God and spirit world would help them. So I don’t want to be there. I want to educate all people in Korea; this is not political influence. In the future, all leaders will come to me and ask for guidance. So that’s why I am publishing a million copies of a Hoon Dok Hae book. Meanwhile, I remain alone, like Jesus and Elijah.

If you can establish a strong foundation centering on Hoon Dok Hae, we can reach the national level. In a short time, the nation will come entirely to me. When you are one third of the way up the hill, everyone feels it is difficult, but later Heavenly Father will come down. So we have to fulfill our portion of responsibility. We have to indemnify all three eras, the Old, New and Completed Testament Ages.

So, are you ready to leave America, or do you want to live here? While you are working here, you can have your wife and children living in Korea for the tong ban kyok pah activities. There are no more conditions; you have to go the substantial way to inherit True Parents’ total victory and get into heaven. Even theologians cannot discover this internal and hidden situation of Jesus Christ. This is a record from True Parents’ and God’s history, based on the internal, heartistic relationship between God, Jesus and humankind.

I am here to restore God’s nation, so I feel it is time to go back to Korea. When that is done, everyone will unite with this. All humankind cannot neglect it, because how else will heaven start? Centering on the unity of mind and body, we can realize true love. No one will oppose this once they understand it. [Archbishop Emmanuel] Milingo should have kept his commitment, no matter what. Do you want salvation through conditional or substantial indemnity? You have to stand on the strong point as a blessed central family, and be able to reveal yourself as one who received God’s blood lineage. God’s blood lineage is not conditional, but substantial. Stand on it as a blessed central family.

To marry, the first condition is for the betrothed to believe in and love each other. Then absolute faith, love and obedience will follow. So as a blessed central family, you should accomplish absolute faith, love and obedience. These three elements are the most important points to make you a blessed central family. Then no matter who goes against you, you can keep your blessed central family status and your descendents will inherit the blood lineage of God.

I have set the example. The crucial issues is not how to make the model, but rather how long it will take to complete heaven. Both heaven and hell exist for the blessed central family. The opposite two worlds exist in heaven, so as a blessed central family, don’t believe that you automatically will go to heaven or stay there. Some of you may go to hell in heaven, which is like a prison. Who are the citizens of heaven? Not the conceptual people, but the substantial people.

You know the teaching of Divine Principle. How many of you practice it? Unless you practice it, you cannot insist that you must live in heaven in spirit world. If you do, you may end up in the prison of hell in heaven. You must possess the ‘mutual realm of life and justice’ or you cannot represent yourself as a blessed central family. This has to connect with God’s value inside you.

Birds that do not have the energy to fly across the ocean will drop into the water and die. You are crossing the ocean and need power centering on True Parents and God, or you will fall into the sea.

I could bless saints and criminals based on my substantial conditions. Also on that foundation I could research about Jesus and Mary. How can you discover the destination? You have to find out and go, like an arrow, to your destination. How can we discover the target and then hit it?

It is time for all humanity to glorify True Parents. You may have your concept of me based upon 20-30 years following, but history has changed. I am 84, and it is time for me to make the conclusion for God’s will on earth. Should an 84 year old work, fighting on the front line, or not? Everything we do as a blessed central family should be done for God’s nation.

How can you read all my books without participating in Hoon Dok Hae? When I have time, I always go fishing. Why? Because when I fish, I forget my age and think of my youth. I think of my mission to accomplish God’s nation. Centering on my hobby, I focus myself.

When I came out of Danbury, I wanted to unite 120 countries, but spirit world made me stop, and instead of making that unity, I started to educate ministers and VIPs.

Philosophers never understand God’s heart and internal state. It is time for Marxists and Leninists to proclaim that I am the messiah of communists.

Whites have no perseverance; they want to go the easy way, and cannot endure. Once I depart to Korea, then America will fall into trouble. We have to set an anchor to hold the six continents. I have done that already, by myself. I have shown the way of the saint and holy son. Satan cannot say anything. God never taught me the way of restoration through indemnity. It is a principle, but whether people go the way of indemnity depends on the individual, not on God. I have set a standard for how to go the indemnity way. Whether you go or not, whether you accomplish your way of indemnity, is up to you. I cannot help you on that point.

Do you think God loved me, or did God persecute me more than Satan? Actually, God persecuted me more than Satan did. God cannot place His son higher than Satan places a Mafioso or some such. That is why God had to persecute me. That is why also I persecute you, just as God did me.

The world has changed. In the past, nations fought nations, but now individuals can fight nations, by making their body a weapon, or with chemical weapons.

Love is prior to belief. Before you believe me, you should love me. Centered on true love, the husband and wife live for each other. This is the original way to practice absolute faith, love and obedience. Without this, man and woman cannot flourish in the family. Do you practice that? Do you live for your spouse? Unless you live for your spouse one hundred per cent, love does not exist. Without love, parents are not parents. It is strange, therefore, for parents to divorce and then fight over the children. They both made the children. Who gave the seed? The children should go to the origin of the seed, the root. Then once a woman lives by herself, all kinds of seeds will be attracted. She is like a boat with no owner. False love is like a hobby love; it is dangerous. Many people love each other as if it were a hobby. Then they divorce. Love is not a hobby, not something you do if you like and stop if you don’t like. With that attitude, true love never comes.

[Father asked Mr. Sato, head of Ocean Church, about today’s weather.] When there is strong wind, it is good fishing. After a hurricane, fish want to eat. So, prepare for fishing. How many boats to do you today? [I can prepare four.] Why only four? [Others are being repaired.] So how many members can you take on four boats? [Including Father’s boat, about 40 members.] If 40 can participate, I think many want to go. Raise your hand if you want to go. Who had a birthday today? None? Within a week before or after? About 7 or 8. How about those born in November 25. Those who were born after October 13. Those who do not want to go fishing, sit down. The rest will go out today, eight per boat.]

Father recognized Mrs. Erikawa, who was present, for her 3 years and eight months street preaching in front of a university, suffering severe persecution from communists.

True Father: I went to Korea (referring to October-November of this year) and worked with the Ambassadors for Peace more than three times, preparing ideas. Behind what I am doing are the providential ideas. God and I are working hard. You cannot just throw away history; you have to open it and apply it to your life. That is why we need Hoon Dok Hae.

We need the House of Peace and Unification of the Family of Heaven and Earth. We have to educate all the Korean people. They do not know who they are, from the family level to the world level. Do you think America or Russia can take this responsibility? Only God and I know the idea. I am doing it now, preparing for the future.

There are many young people here. Are you connected to free sex and immorality? If you are, God will judge you. I spent 30-40 years here; my golden years were invested in America. So America is responsible to recognize me. I received persecution here. The American government cannot ignore me. The world expects to be unified centering on America, to create one unified world. To accomplish the goal depends upon the extent to which my ideas are applied.

You are the bodies of spirits. This generation can go down to the bottom, upside down, and bring it to a new Heaven and Earth. If you want to go to the top, you will not go anywhere. Go to the bottom. More than any other people, you Americans should work hard and cross the borderline of hell into the Kingdom of Heaven. To do that, you must determine that no matter what difficulties appear, you will keep going.

Each family has ownership of the Chun Il Guk. Each of you tend to understand the providence according to your own nationality, but from now we have to understand it on an equal level, the level of the Chun Il Guk family. Measure yourself by that standard. I am prepared to prolong the work for ten more years. American leaders, you must know this idea. I do not know how much you understand.

These ideas emerged 12 years ago, when I had the system of ideas. But the former presidents of South Korea destroyed the system. Now I have reconstructed it and hence am sending out women to the village level to reconstruct the system. From November 12, women leaders’ workshops will begin. We will mobilize thousands of women to move South Korea in the heavenly direction. I prepared this and then came here.

The time is up. We have to prepare our own nation. South Korea and America have no owners. The president is not the owner. The Republicans won and are so proud and do not realize the Unification support through godly education over the years on the grassroots. We have created such a grassroots foundation.

You young people should learn how to influence society as soldiers of the movement. If you sit down with nothing to do, you will accomplish nothing. If you do something, you will inherit the fortune of God.

We lost such a wonderful foundation 14 years ago. Now we have to rebuild the tong ban kyok pah foundation. If we cannot, I may give up my Korean nationality. American youth, you look at me, but if you do not save America — you have to do it at the cost of your life. You have to save the American family. If you clearly know the tradition but do not practice it, then you should perish. If you know it, you have to apply it on the tribal level. If you don’t, your life is worth nothing.

You sleep and nap, and the sun comes up in the morning. If you sleep, you do not recognize that the morning has arrived. In that case, you will go down and turn into fertilizer. When the sun rises, you should welcome it as a new start with a new idea, and connect it to God. America is the second Israel. Think how to mobilize and guide your tribe.

If Jesus had connected with the tribe, as their priest, connected with the religious foundation, then he could have connected with Rome, sending an Ambassador for Peace. Now we have prepared several tens of thousands of Ambassadors for Peace. Their role is to educate the top leaders in their country, so that they will recognize where the world is situated providentially.

After crossing the mountain, we enter the new Heaven and Earth. Without that foundation, it will be difficult. You must determine yourself to educate clergy, 144,000. On December 7 is the blessing. I will totally support your efforts with Japanese missionaries. If your Ambassadors for Peace cannot do it, it is a shame upon America.

Beyond the darkness, we should welcome the new sunrise. You should forget America and embrace the whole world. I have forgotten the Unification Church in order to embrace the world. This is how to overcome hell. If you cannot overcome hell, you will perish. Those who criticize are kicked out. Then you will enter the Jericho castle, and use all resources, power and energy, with one mind to shout out.

Recognize yourself. Tighten your belt. Connect beyond your nation. Recognize who you are and your responsibility, and march forward.

As you hear this speech about the unification of South Korea and North Korea, or east and west, think about how you can connect or apply this idea to your life. There are 6 billion people on the earth and each has to recognize their counterpart in the Unification — (?) You don’t know how to use this idea. The idea of the Lord of the Second Advent; the term ‘True Parents’ started from the Unification Church.

You are attending the True Parents and have that concept. This is an historical matter. You are uniting your mind and body and parents and children with no boundaries in your family. It is such a unified environment that will move the family, society nation and world. How can we overcome? How can we bring the unique idea, the foundation representing Heaven and Earth?

You are princes and princesses of Heavenly Father. It is such an important idea. Now True Parents have come, who can re-organize and recreate the reconstructed ideas. This is not simple. It is not only a concept; we must do it. A human lifetime is less than 100 years. It is impossible in human terms, but by connecting with God it is possible. You can connect with the ideas and destroy the fallen nature that leads to a divided husband and wife, parents and children and mind and body.

Only God and Satan know. Because Satan knows; he should be set back. He motivates the fighting on every level. The Buddhist idea of bringing back peace — God knows the solution , but Satan is against it. As you do not know, you are quarreling in mind and body and in your family. In that crippled situation, only by centering on God can you restore unity. God can show a better way than you.

No one understands God or the purpose of religion. Presidents do not know their responsibility. Then all layers of ways emerge; only God knows. But Satan can destroy it. Religion has developed for 6,000 years from the position of slave, through eight stages. This is the history of religion. But finally God has to take responsibility, and the religions that do not know the will of God go their own way. Then even thousands of years pass and they cannot reach their goal.

Judaism, Christianity and Unification Church are centered on bringing in the Messiah. They represent the Old Testament, New Testament and Completed Testament. The Completed Testament is perfection, representing the unity of husband and wife and mind and body. You absolutely unite with God through the Messiah. It means to unite with God’s life and lineage. That is the fate of humankind. The Messiah is the Savior, to save all humankind.

False parents planted a false lineage and the True Parents plant the new one and clean up the old one through eight stages and restore all things. The new comes in through True Parents.

The religious realm is Abel and the political realm is Cain. They are always against each other. They developed into national levels. As Unification Church members, are you united in mind and body, or divided? You should stop that fighting within, and center on God’s blood lineage and say, ‘That is me. I am the son or daughter who has received God’s love, God’s lineage and all kinds of ideas. That seed is connected to me.’ How much do you recognize that idea?

Because of false parents, there are thousands of boundaries. God and True Parents came and started at one point, with God as my Father, with my husband as my elder brother and my wife is my elder sister, elder daughter. Then they come into oneness in the family. This is to go the opposite way from Satan, connecting to True Parents love and life and lineage. You should have that self-recognition.

Your mind gives you direction. It has to tell you to follow absolute faith, love and obedience. God’s mind and body do not struggle. The starting point is one within God. In the position of prince and princess, it is your starting point. Then, totally united as husband and wife, God will come to that center. That is the blessed couple. Without that foundation, you cannot develop. That way, you perfect your family. Beyond the filial piety and loyalty, you can go forward as saints.

[Father drew a grid with inverted cones, meeting vertically, centering on the y-axis, at their tips. The upper cone is the true, the lower is the false. They are exchanged. Every level of the lower cone is to be denied. At the bottom is hell. All the levels on the lower cone are divided by boundaries. There are sixteen boundaries in all, with a pair, internal and external, on each of the eight stages. Similarly eight stages go up on the upper cone, Then each stage above is connected with the corresponding stage below, and turns it upside down, or brings it right side up, as it were. In the process of explanation, Father drew vertical lines along the x-axis, right and left, extending up and down to the perimeters of each level of the cone. Then, in a separate upper cone, Father drew concentric circles at the top of the cone, with lines going from the extremes of each concentric circle down to the x-axis. Then he drew a line meandered among the parallel lines, representing God freely traveling throughout the cosmos.]

Are you, Unification Church leaders, exchanged [i.e., have you made the transition from the lower cone to the upper cone]? Are you not connected to smoking? to dating? Your mind has to dominate your body, or you cannot go to the Kingdom of Heaven.

Because of the fall, the top side went down and lower side up, and —

How fearful are these ideas; how important. So you should be correct in exchanging. Living here on earth, you have to cross the boundary and discover oneness in yourself. You have to recognize your position and exchange with the corresponding level.

Motion is not created through maintaining your ideas; motion is created through give and take action. So, there aren’t any boundaries. If a wife has a boundary between herself and her husband, without paying attention, she is making — We should tear down the boundary from the individual, family, tribe — until Heaven and Earth are united as one. Integrated with the virtues of filial piety, patriotism, sainthood and divinity.

Are you loving your spouse that way? Are you a true husband, a true son of God? You have to offer everything to True Parents. If you have possessiveness about your own things, you are still connected with the satanic culture. Women lost their true bridegroom. Now I have come. From the bottom of your heart, you should connect.

[It is 8 a.m. and I close the laptop with regret, in order to return to Barrytown to prepare for Sunday service. Later I was told that Father’s speech continued for another 45 minutes.]

Rev. Peter Kim: On September 30, True Mother’s American speaking tour ended and True Parents left America to go to Korea, so they were gone exactly 40 days. We arrived in Korea for the October 3 holy day and October 4 Day of the Victory of Heaven. Foundation Day was at Soo Taek Ri, with 5,000 gathered. We did Hoon Dok Hae reading Father’s speech from last year’s October 3 holy day. Father said that everyone present should save part of the cake, rice and fruit from the offering table, note the date, and bequeath it to our descendents for thousands of years. That is the value of the moment we are in.

It is time to dash toward the providence of 2004 and totally accomplish it by 2012 if 2004 is delayed. Everyone there made that determination. True Parents emphasized il shim, having one mind, one mindset, and one heart, not even one degree deviated from God. It up to us to unite mind and body centering on the will of God and True Parents. The practice of absolute faith, love and obedience brings the result of one mind, heart and mindset.

A new heaven and earth begin today, on the Foundation Day of the Victory of Heaven. True Father spoke of the holiness of the love organ, and how abusing it is like stabbing oneself. So keep your purity by controlling your love organ.

On October 4 and the following days, 2,000 world leaders gathered together at Soo Taek Ri. Leaders should have economic power, to support their own ventures, the power of persuasion, and the ability to share God’s message with the world. A priest of God embraces the entire environment. It is time to harvest the 6,000 years of God’s suffering and liberate True Parents. When God created, it was an ‘omnipotent, absolute, perfect creation.’

Even if there has been one degree of deviation every year, after thousands of years the creation is completely corrupted. The ideal to perfect the creation is that of the parents’ love for children. That defines the way of heaven, being absolute, omnipotent and unchanging.

True Father spoke of one global system of media and education. Then on October 5-6 there was a meeting of Ambassadors for Peace, 2,000 from throughout South Korea, at Cheong Pyeong Lake. Father explained the meaning of the providence and responsibility of the Ambassadors for Peace. Dr. Yang gave an inspiring report from America, as did Rev. Kwak on the blessing ceremonies held by the IIFWP worldwide on the national level, in detail. Also they heard of the development of the Hoon Dok Family churches in Japan, and Rev. Hwang’s blueprint for development in Korea.

One Ambassador for Peace was so inspired that he called his wife to come to Cheong Pyeong Lake to join him. Finally, True Father called for Tong Ban Kyok Pah (local tribal messiah activism to break through in the neighborhoods). Father called us to create trinities of families including one church representative (priest), one Tribal Messiah blessed couple, and one Ambassador for Peace. Father called for education of the Ambassadors for Peace to the same level of faith that the ACLC ministers’ reached at their workshop in Maryland. The members should create classes on the local level for that. The Ambassadors for Peace don’t know our church tradition, so True Father invited them to the Sunday pledge ceremony and Hoon Dok Hae in the Cheong Pyeong Lake temple. None of them opposed it. Their former emotional distance, with the attitude that ‘we are not Unification Church members,’ dissipated. For most of them it was the first time. They felt we are one family sharing one destiny. They developed pride in True Father and our movement.

October 10: Father explained about the Resolution Rally. The saints centering on Jesus made the resolution about God and True Parents. On earth we are having different levels of resolution rallies, and Father said we need the rally on every level from the individual all the way up the eight steps, culminating in God. This goes together with the Holy Burning Ceremony. Also, on October 7, Father directed that Hoon Dok Hae move to starting at 5 am. This is the time of burning out your old life and starting anew.

October 12: Father went fishing in Korea, and directed that a building be built on a certain location for education.

October 14: The 52nd anniversary of liberation from Heung Nam prison, and 3nd anniversary of the liberation of the spirit world [I hope I got that right — ed.]. Rev. Kwak read Hoon Dok Hae and we shared our determination to offer to True Parents and God all our appreciation. Father shared deeply about his experience in Heung Nam labor camp, foretelling that one day, people worldwide by the millions will visit that prison site. It will be the place for training the people of the world, so we should have a workshop center there. How? By establishing the absolute true love kingdom on earth. We are now crossing the river and strong waves are coming. There is only one way to succeed, and that is to cross quickly. This is the last moment of the entire Providence so don’t make any mistake in your thinking. Don’t hesitate, but quickly cross the river.

October 16: Rally of the Harmony of Heaven and Earth. We divided Korea into sections and local leaders and Ambassadors for Peace gathered at Cheong Pyeong Lake or Sun Moon University accordingly. Father’s speech was on God’s Fatherland and One World. We did one hour Hoon Dok Hae with the spirit world message, then Father spoke. He focused on the Korean leaders and Ambassadors for Peace. It is now time for all Korean people to unite, connect with the will of God and establish the Chun Il Guk. We should seek His Kingdom and His righteousness, as Father used as the foundation of his message that Bible verse. From this day, we need new traditions. We have the special Holy Burning Ceremony of the Unity of Heaven and Earth. It is a new tradition. Each family has done it, and if you didn’t, you must do it.

The Ambassadors for Peace followed Father’s direction and burned whatever was most precious to them, connected with the secular world. It is your living offering to God. For most it was the first time to do such a thing. Some had nothing, and wrote on a piece of paper and burned it, or burned their tie. All priests, tribal leaders and Ambassadors for Peace did it. Buddhists are familiar with this kind of ceremony.

October 20: The third rally was held on the grounds of Sun Moon University, gathering 11,000 people from the southern area of the country. It was a rainy day, yet there was this turn out. But the spirit world stopped the rain, 30 minutes before the event. The event took three or four hours. After burning everything, and lining up for the bus, it started raining again. Heung Jin Nim and Daemo Nim held back the rain. On the way back to Seoul, it was pouring heavily. We felt the spirit world’s good support in that event particularly. We ate chicken at a rest stop on the way back to Seoul.

True Father called Rev. Jung Og Yu to the Sun Moon University event, then told him to carry the event forward in Japan. Rev. Yu reported about the Korean community in Japan, which has always been divided by sympathy with the north and south. They are antagonistic with each other. North Korea established a university in Japan. Father invited the top North Korean leaders for a three-day workshop. They opened their hearts and minds and recognized the greatness of True Parents and Divine Principle. Then Father directed that we educate the lower level Koreans in Japan who are devoted to North Korea, and now those workshops are going on.

October 30: 580 Korean church leaders gathered and internally determined to fulfill all the directions that Father has been giving. At the end of the session, True Father called them all to Han Nam Dong. He explained about the trinity plan, with priest, tribal leader and Ambassador for Peace working together. Wherever you go, teach the lecture, not by your own way, but by reading the Divine Principle or using Mrs. Eu’s charts. That way, people directly touch the original world. All church leaders pledged to do so.

More than 300 of our Unification leaders went to Pyongyang, in different teams. This was unprecedented in the last 50 years, and happened because of the benefit that North Korea receives from True Parents. The North Korean leaders believe in True Parents and do not deny God. Just yesterday, the last of the teams arrived back in the South. South Korea was shocked by this display of True Parents’ power. The North Korean leaders trust and believe True Parents, and expressed this to the Ambassadors for Peace who went on the tours. The Ambassadors for Peace are eye-witnesses of True Parents’ foundation in North Korea. Now they think that Rev. Moon is more than human, and that only True Parents can unify North Korea and South Korea. Many said that they will join the Unification movement.

Our hotel in Pyongyang has 260 rooms and is famous in North Korea, with good food. The employees are the most handsome and beautiful. Kim Il Sung visited nine times, Kim Jong Il six times. They are bringing a profit now. Many foreigners stay there. England and other countries have opened diplomatic relations with North Korea, so the future of the hotel is bright. They visited the Pyonghwa Motors auto plant and saw how the North Koreans honor True Parents, a model for us.

Then they would travel three hours to Jongju, True Parents’ hometown. Many of the Ambassadors for Peace went to their own ancestral hometown in North Korea. They bowed to their ancestors, weeping.

Yesterday the third tour returned. Among the group were several Ambassador for Peace couples, including one 72 years old, both with hometowns in North Korea. It was the first time in 50 years for the husband to return home. He fell down, unconscious, when he arrived there, with a stroke. He was taken to a hospital, but North Korean health services are so poor. No equipment, no oxygen, nothing is clean. Mr. Sang Kwon Park suggested to Kim, Young Soon, who is second to Kim, Jong Il, that it is no good for someone to die because of lack of health care in North Korea. How about sending him to South Korea across the 38th parallel? Mr. Kim had to call Kim, Jong Il, who approved. It was the first time for a tourist to travel across the 38th parallel physically, transferred from a North Korea ambulance to a South Korea ambulance. He was taken straight to a hospital in Seoul.

November 3: Rev. Kwak reported about the WANGO event in Washington, DC, and Dr. Yang arrived and reported on the one-week Divine Principle workshop for ministers. I guess you know about that victory already.

November 4: Rev. Yu arrived from Japan and reported on the Holy Burning Ceremony, and all the spiritual phenomena. For example, in Tokyo, they had a big fire and were taking it down to the river. They needed to make ashes, to burn everything completely to ashes. Father said to keep the bowl in which the fire burned, wash it and allow people to see the evidence of the burning. The miracle was that they took a picture of the stain in the ashes in the washed bowl, and there appeared the words, ‘1965: People Should Have Their Hometown and Nation. People who love their hometown can love their nation.’ [I hope I got that right!] It showed up in white in the black ashes. People were surprised and took a picture that Rev. Yu brought to True Parents. In another city, they took a picture on which the image of the candle stand remained on a table where it was, after it had been removed.

November 5: 43rd True Children’s Day at Soo Taek Ri, on ‘The Revolution of the Mind (or Spirit).’ True Father explained that from now we should describe, in the Family Pledge, our family as ‘the owner of the Chun Il Guk’ [Chun Il Guk juin-in]. Peace settlement of the unity of Heaven and Earth. Peaceful establishment of the unity and peace of Heaven and Earth. Father offered this declaration.

[This means that we should begin each verse of the Family Pledge with the phrase ‘Chun Il Guk ju-in in ur-i kajong-un cham sarang-ae joong-shim ha-go,’ which means something like ‘Our family, owners of the Chun Il Guk, pledge etc. etc.’ In other words, ‘our family’ is now described as ‘our family that owns the Chun Il Guk.’ I expect that an official memo about this will come out soon, so don’t take my word for it, but my family is doing it like this now, because we heard about it from a Korean UTS student. ­ Ed.]

True Father called 50 leaders from Japan and America. Fifty were chosen out of the thousand from Japan, and 50 from Korea, for a tour of the country. They learned about Korea and its culture. They left on the morning of the 7th. Fifty represents the foundation of each country. A friendship ceremony took place in which they became like triplets. So they should meet once a month, even by writing a letter (in Korean, only), and share their difficulties and blessings. Also they should have their children marry each other. Each trio took a picture with True Parents. Later we will build a condominium in which those leaders can live in the same place. They must speak and communicate in Korean, therefore they have to study Korean.

True Father: Those people are like a model. In the future, the world will follow this pattern. Within three years, all world leaders should study Korean.

November 7: True Parents left Korea. Before leaving, True Parents visited a place Father lived as a student, south of the Han River (Kook Suk Dong), where he taught Sunday school. He lived in a house, and Father met the family that owned [and apparently still owns] that house, and gave them gifts. It was so long ago, but they didn’t forget Father. He forgave them and told them to study Divine Principle and receive the Blessing, and become members of the Unification movement. We saw how limitless is True Parents’ love.

True Father: America has to bring this into balance, so you need to develop. How will you do it? Dr. Yang, please report.

Dr. Yang: Rev. Peter Kim explained Father’s 40 days in Korea, and I would like to point out two things from that report. Father always supports America. The American president is very important providentially. In the recent elections, the government party (i.e., Republicans) increased. Behind the scenes were many miracles. This will support the coming years by solving many issues.

Righteous government leaders support Parents Day and always send letters of congratulations to True Mother’s and True Father’s tours. They always attend events to support us. Key congressional committee leadership posts were regained by people who respect True Father’s vision and understand America’s responsibility. We support morality and the family as the way of America’s future. Many of our AFC and ALC graduates were elected, often in close races. Three of our members were elected on the state level. Their slogans are ‘Faith, Family and Freedom,’ and that America is a God-centered country.

Also key governorships were held by Republicans, against strong national opposition from the Democrats. One re-elected governor’s web site, the day before the election, trumpeted the endorsement from Tiempos del Mundo.

The ministers workshop in Maryland was especially important for them solidifying each others’ faith and commitment. We on earth have to advocate True Parents’ proclamation more than spirit world does, and America is slow with this so I apologize to True Parents. But now the message has gone out to 50 million readers. How do we respond to peoples’ questions? This was the purpose of the workshop, to equip the ministers to know ‘Who is Rev. Moon?’

We shared what True Father has done in the world and in America, and his life goals and ministry. We focused on True Parents’ 80th birthday in DC and the American Century award. The theme of that event was ‘American Honors Rev. Sun Myung Moon on His 80th Birthday,’ with a beautiful logo. Tom Ward testified about the work to overcome communism, and ministers themselves spoke about the True Family Values movement. We will make a documentary film on the workshop. The conclusion is that Rev. Moon is the Messiah.

We thus could give the lectures very easily, based on Jesus’ question to St. Peter, ‘Who do you say I am?’ Peter’s answer was that you are Christ, the son of the living God.’ ‘Flesh and blood has not revealed this to you.’ The Segye Times in New York published a front page story about the workshop.

Also a major Muslim leader in Detroit has participated in recent blessings, and he published photos of the Blessing in his magazine, including on the cover. Also the Muslim Journal editor is publishing about True Father and wants to meet True Father. He is an Ambassador for Peace and is so proud of it.

One minister sent a letter to True Father, Dr. M—- from Brooklyn. [Dr. Yang read the letter, roughly as follows:] ‘This letter comes from one who fought your movement for 25 years. I didn’t believe that someone who does not speak English could do so much for America. But after 33 years of teaching the gospel of Jesus, my life was missing something. I asked God, and no answer came. Last February I lost my father, and seven years earlier on the same date, my mother had died.

‘Then, my father came from spirit world and told me that Rev. Moon can help me. I didn’t believe it and fought it. Then in June, a lifelong friend, Philip Johnson in DC, spoke to me. I came here, and repent and ask your forgiveness. I ask for your blessing. Here I am, Father. All I can do, I will do for the work of God.’ He later gave a speech at Belvedere, and said he will change his name to Paul, because he had that Damascus road experience with True Parents. I’m sure he will be a filial son of True Parents.

One more, from Minneapolis. ‘I will never forget the 50 state tour. The lights went out, and when they came back on, you were looking directly into my eyes. That night I knew, I will die for you. You have given me so much and that is all I can say.’ They say that even if they are persecuted, they will support True Father. They know how we are courageous and bold to convey this message to all Christian leaders. Many ministers are kicked out by their boards, but none of them are hesitating.

This True Children’s Day, we received True Parents’ leaders meeting on the 6th. Father spoke of the restoration of the ocean, land and that this heavenly fortune is now connected with Korea. [Father traveled to two islands, one on either side of the Korean peninsula.] Huk Sang Dong is a beautiful island, and the eastern side is another one. My hometown is close by, and Rev. Yu is near another. In Korea, we have Tong-Il aviation, like Washington Aviation, with six helicopters. From our company in Seoul to the island is 1.5 hours. The island is like a miniature Soruk mountains. True Mother took photos and she is quite good; her pictures will be in the Tong-il magazine next month.

The islands connect the ocean providence to the land of Korea. Rev. Yu and myself took some fruit and dropped it from the helicopter. The islands are connected with the ocean providence. On the way back, Rev. Yu’s hometown, the same as Kim, Dae Jung’s hometown, there are hundreds of islands there. On one big one, Rev. Yu’s relatives are living. His relatives and cousins came, and Father gave them fruit. Then we went to Mokpo and my hometown, 15 minutes away.

My hometown has 100 houses, with young families. My cousins came, and they put up a banner welcoming True Parents. It is the first time that a helicopter landed there, so the entire village came out and welcomed True Parents. Father gave gifts, looked around and returned to Seoul. That blessing was not for me, but it represented all members’ hometown villages. Now that we have connected the tribal blessing, now Father can just give blessings from the helicopter. The villagers had a party until 9 pm. It is representing the hometowns of all brothers and sisters of Korea, Japan and America.

Father stopped on the way back at Sun Moon University. Out of 200 universities, its soccer team is #7 in Korea. It is very strong, and this time, the Sun Moon University team won the national league of universities, defeating Koryo, Korea and Yonsei. The observers wonder where the power came from. Now our Ilhwa team is almost totally #1, we just have to win one more game.

Father also has 2 champion teams in Brazil, and those players came to Korea to teach our college teams. A thousand students welcomed True Parents. They offered True Parents the championship flag. Now Father is connecting the soccer foundation with the movement for world peace.

True Father: America is a big country. How will it move in connection with the will of God? The politics and economy make no difference unless it connects with the will of Heaven. That way, a revolution will come. So I have made a big pillar here on the land, with Chun Il Guk, with each person taking their own responsibility.

Respected current and former heads of state, leaders of religion, politics, and academia from around the world, renowned diplomats and leaders of the United Nations:

In addition to the IIFWP Convocation, another reason for your gathering here today, with your hearts yearning for world peace, is to commemorate the International Day of Peace. On this profoundly significant occasion, as the Founder of the Interreligious and International Federation for World Peace, I would like to convey a message regarding God’s original ideal. The title is, “God’s Fatherland and the One World.”

Why We Must Establish God’s Kingdom

God has spoken of “His Kingdom and His righteousness,” but people living on the earth today have not been able to find it. It is important to know that humanity today, just as it has for many thousands of years of human history, fervently desires the establishment of God’s Kingdom and His righteousness.

How is it, then, that the Kingdom and the righteousness that we have fervently desired remain unfulfilled goals? The reason is that human beings committed the fall. As a result of the human fall, God and humanity, who originally could have formed the center of His Kingdom and His righteousness, found themselves in circumstances that prevented their forming a relationship with each other. Human beings did not know much about our Father, the center of His Kingdom or His righteousness. Hence, God has labored throughout the course of history to enlighten these ignorant people and to teach us about Himself. In this context, establishing His Kingdom and His righteousness remains our fervent desire and goal.

There exist many nations in today’s world. Yet, not even one can truly receive love from God. For this reason, God wants to negate this fallen world and recreate His new Kingdom. God has conducted His providence to establish a nation. God cannot accomplish His will for human restoration without cooperation from a nation. There must be a true state that is centered on true religion. Hence, in the fullness of time, God established a particular nation and religion, the chosen people of Israel and Judaism.

What is the character of the nation that fulfills our fervent desire for the Kingdom of God? It is not like the nations in which you now are living. Someday, we will have to leave these nations.

We do not yet have God’s Kingdom. A person without a nation does not have a permanent domicile, a nationality, or the possibility to register as a citizen. For this reason, we must accomplish the establishment of God’s Kingdom in the present world. We must construct the heavenly kingdom on the earth. We must live on the earth as citizens of this nation. In that nation we lead our own families and kin, and inherit the lineage of the true and good parents who love their country and their nation as victorious sons and daughters. Only in that way will we enter the Kingdom of Heaven in the spiritual world. This is God’s Principle.

Only when there is a nation will we be able to bequeath a tradition that remains with our descendants into eternity. Only when there is a nation will the blood and sweat we shed live on. Only when there is a nation will men and women build a monument praising Heaven for God’s work on this earth, and only then will every trace of glory remain. If there is no nation, it all will have been for nothing. This is why we must understand that the establishment of God’s Kingdom is our most important task.

We must live with the constant conviction that “Our family is protecting the nation that is qualified to receive the love of the True Parents. So I must be a filial child of the True Parents and fulfill the way of the patriot for the nation.” It means that we must receive the love of God and True Parents. We cannot receive God’s love unless we have a nation. This is because only after we have been victorious over Satan’s rule over the nation can God’s Kingdom be established.

God’s Kingdom is the Cherished Desire of All People

We cherish God’s Kingdom. Why is this? It is because it is the place where there is love. It is the place where we can find a love that is not transitory but lives eternally, transcending time. Also, it is the place where we can be lifted up, and where our value is recognized to the fullest extent. It is the place where we can be happy eternally. These are the reasons that people yearn for the Heavenly Kingdom and long to see it.

We must travel the path that we truly want to travel, and we must build the nation in which we want to live for all eternity. If we possess riches, they must be only those that are guaranteed to belong to the cosmos at the same time that they belong to us, and to belong to the past and future at the same time that they belong to the present. We must also possess the authority and knowledge such that when we weep, heaven and earth will weep with us, and when we are joyful, heaven and earth can share our joy. This is the highest desire and cherished hope that fallen humanity must establish in the present age.

Everyone should be able to live in his or her own nation. This is an absolute right and requirement bestowed on human beings. Everyone without exception must live a life filled with a cherished desire for God’s Kingdom and His righteousness. This means that we must paint a picture of the ideal world with our thoughts, and in our daily life follow the path of living for the sake of His Kingdom and His righteousness.

Do you have such a nation? Because you do not, you must now establish such a nation. What kind of nation did I say this would be? It will be a nation of ideals, a nation of unity. It will be a nation that all people can enter. In the work to establish this nation, no one is excluded. The family, clan, nation, and world all will cooperate. This is how each individual can become unified internally, and can establish unity within families, clans, societies, nations, and the world.

God must accomplish the purpose of His providence on the earth without fail. What, then, will be the result? It will be that God will be able to save all people and exercise His dominion over the world. The purpose of the providence cannot be anything other than the hope for this to come to pass.

If you are unable to complete the task of restoring a nation on the earth, then in the spirit world you will not possess the value of a person of the Kingdom of Heaven. You must take with you to the next life the achievement and qualification of having been ruled under God’s dominion on earth. This is the original standard of God’s creation.

I envy nothing of this world. I have no interest in the things of this world. My lifelong cherished desire has been this: “Shouldn’t I be able to die in a nation where God can protect me? If I do not bring this about during my lifetime, then will not mine have been a miserable life? I must establish this nation before I die and live there, even if only for a single day.”

For the sake of that single day, I am willing to offer the sacrifices made over thousands of days. You might rest, because you do not understand these things, but I keep going. Even if you cannot do it, I still must do it, even if it requires mobilizing people from other countries. If one nation cannot do it, I must work through other countries to carry out an indirect strategy.

What is the purpose of our faith? It is that we become citizens of God’s Kingdom. If we are not citizens of His Kingdom, we are not free to relate with pride to all people and the creation. We are not free to receive their love. A person without a nation is always vulnerable. He stands in a pitiful position. He may suffer unjustly for any number of reasons. This is why we need to know where to find the nation of God’s desire; that is, the nation that will serve as God’s foothold in the world. This is the essential issue.

Ultimately, we should be able to shed blood and sweat for the sake of the people of this nation, for the sake of building the eternal heavenly kingdom, and for the sake of building a prosperous society about which our descendants will sing praise through all eternity.

Without a doubt, the children of God’s direct lineage will exercise kingly authority in this nation, based on their mandate from Heaven that carry God’s full authority. This Kingdom will recognize democracy and communism as failed systems. Once formed, this Kingdom will endure forever.

When you consider this, aren’t you distressed about not being citizens of this Kingdom? I believe we should be lamenting the fact that we are not able to live in such a nation. We must repent that we have not acquired this unique and unchanging kingship.

In attempting to establish such a kingship, nation, and territory, human beings have established numerous kingdoms. We know that during this process, many people have died, many common people were sacrificed, many countries were destroyed, and royal authority changed hands many times. Among the people who were sacrificed, there can be no doubt that those on Heaven’s side, the sorrowful souls who were sacrificed for this purpose, still long for the establishment of such a Kingdom and such a world.

God’s Providence to Establish His Kingdom

We have come to know that after the human fall, Satan, not God, exercised dominion over history. God, however, was originally supposed to be the master of this world. If clans and states formed by families of God’s direct children had built the world, and if they had maintained the relationship of love with God, then God would have been able to exercise His dominion over the world, over every nation, over every family, and over every individual. Because of the human fall, however, all individuals, families, clans, societies, nations, and the world now stand in opposition to God. This is the history and world brought about by the fall.

If we leave the world as it is, the world of eternal love expressing God’s ideal of creation will not come about. But because God, as the Absolute Being, cannot establish His original authority unless He accomplishes His original will, He has used His position as the standard to bring the world of evil under control and lead it to become the world of His original ideal. This has been God’s providence with respect to the fallen world.

There are many nations on the earth today that belong to the fallen sovereignty, but there is not even one that is aligned with God’s fervent desire. In order to establish a nation through which He can accomplish His will, God has been working throughout history to guide people without their awareness. God created Adam and raised him toward perfection with the desire to have one being through whom He could exercise dominion over all families, societies, and the world. As a result of Adam’s fall, however, the history that began in oneness was broken into innumerable pieces. The history of salvation has been a process of arranging and connecting all the pieces.

Since Adam was the ancestor of all human beings, losing Adam as a single individual was the same as losing the entire whole. So God needs to call and establish Adam again. The person who is established must be someone who is able to forsake and forget his clan and nation and live exclusively for God’s will.

Let us examine this in the context of the origin of the history of Christianity. Jesus, because of Israel’s disbelief and persecution, was forced into a life of wandering. He was unable to fulfill the hope that speaks both to the spirit and the flesh. But the Messiah comes with the mission to break down all barriers in heaven and earth and bring about a single unified whole. God wills absolutely that we establish the principled state required by heavenly law, and that states structured by principles of the fallen world pass away. God’s fervent hope in Adam was not confined to Adam as an individual, but extended to bringing about a family, clan, society and nation from Adam.

When the Messiah’s efforts to build a true nation were shattered, Israel suffered enormously. So the Lord who comes again is responsible to perfect Adam and fulfill the mission of the Messiah. This person is responsible to perfect the family, clan, society, nation, and world rooted in Adam.

God sent His beloved sons and daughters to the earth to push history forward, toward establishing the nation that is absolutely one. But at the present moment there is no prepared foundation on which the one nation can be restored. Because of repeated failures, God has sent heavenly persons to the earth to carry out, push forward, and accomplish this task. This has been the history of the providence of restoration.

We must be grateful, even if God sacrifices us as individuals. Even if He sacrifices our families, clans, societies and nations, we must be grateful. Only when such a true individual and a true nation are created can order be brought to the world. If God’s Kingdom cannot be built on the foundation of sacrifices made by an individual, then the sacrifice must extend past the individual to the family, clan, and society.

As He carried out the providence to establish His Kingdom, even God has been governed by this principle. Thus, His strategy is that, if an individual were to appear who could live for the sake of the Kingdom, then the family that inherited this person’s individual tradition would make the next sacrifice for the sake of the Kingdom, and then a clan and a people would inherit the tradition of this family and sacrifice themselves for the sake of the Kingdom. This is how God has carried out the providence to establish His Kingdom.

For what purpose were we born on this earth? We were born to love God’s Kingdom. Also, God’s love for that Kingdom has motivated Him in carrying out His providence.

Jesus and God’s Kingdom

Citizens of a nation that has no sovereignty are in a pitiful situation. This concerned Jesus, and so he told us: “Therefore do not be anxious, saying, `What shall we eat?’ or `What shall we drink?’ or `What shall we wear?’ For the Gentiles seek all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them all. But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things shall be yours as well.” (Matthew 6: 31-33) Did he say we should seek after having a son first? Or was it God’s Kingdom? Jesus told us to seek after the Kingdom that God seeks.

God’s fervent desire to establish His Kingdom and His righteousness cannot be accomplished apart from human beings and the creation. In fact, it is only through human beings that it can be accomplished. God desires to be harmonized with the creation through true human beings. That is why God sent Jesus to this earth as a substantial being who could represent the Lord before fallen humanity and bring forth Heaven’s lineage. Jesus was the first person who had the purpose of accomplishing God’s fervent historical desire on earth.

Jesus was God’s son, the first established in this position after 4,000 years of preparation. He was the son of God living on the earth in the midst of a nation centering on Judaism with the seed of the family of Joseph. The satanic side already had established nations and was attacking the side of Heaven, so Heaven’s side also needed a nation standing on a complete foundation. That is why God labored for 4,000 years to form that single nation. The fruit of God’s labor was to have come about by the people of Israel accepting Jesus and forming a worldwide foundation. This was to have led to the establishment of a world centered completely on God and Jesus on earth. Because Jesus died prematurely, however, this world was established only spiritually.

Centering on his three-year public life, Jesus attempted to indemnify everything that had been lost centering on Judaism. Jesus was crucified, however, and Israel, which had been established as a substantial body on the earth, as God’s national foundation in both spirit and flesh, also perished. Because Jesus was killed, Christianity could achieve only the spiritual foundation of a nation, and the Israelites became a people without a nation, forced to wander the world as an object of the satanic world’s derision. This is why we cannot find a nation that is truly Christian in spirit and flesh. So the Lord who comes again must restore the 4,000-year providence by which God created the nation of Israel, and restore all that was lost through the disbelief of the Israelites that resulted from their ignorance.

Jesus came to establish a nation, one nation. He was not able to establish this nation both in spirit and flesh; he established it only in spirit. That is why Christianity today does not have a substantial nation on the earth. This means that God cannot turn to any nation or any people on earth and say, “My beloved nation, my beloved people.” This tells us that the foundation for God’s Kingdom has not yet been built on this earth. If at the time of Jesus, the nation of Israel had become one centering on Jesus, then that nation would have been God’s Kingdom centering on His son, Jesus, and God would have restored the world centering on that nation. As a result of Jesus’ death, that is, as a result of the loss of the substantial body, the foundation to connect spirit and flesh on the earth could bear fruit only spiritually.

Until now Christians have been like a people without a country, so they have suffered death everywhere they have gone. Christianity grew through the blood of martyrs. Because of the manner in which Christianity was planted in the world, it could not grow except by the blood of martyrs. Now the time of shedding blood and receiving persecution is over. Instead of dying away and disappearing, however, there has appeared a way of thinking that yearns for God’s Kingdom and eagerly awaits the coming Lord in order to establish the lost substantial nation on the basis of Christianity’s spiritual foundation. This is the expectation of the Second Coming.

Even Jesus is waiting in Paradise. We need to know that he has not yet gone before Heaven’s throne. Jesus needed to establish national sovereignty before God, rule over a nation, and build a nation that would possess the authority to go directly from earth to Heaven. Because he was not able to build such a nation, Jesus cannot stand before God. So Paradise became the “waiting room” on the way to Heaven. Heaven is a place where no one can enter alone. If the fall had not occurred, we would have gone to Heaven as blessed families, centering on Adam and Eve. We must go there along with our sons and daughters.

In order to restore this through indemnity, God has been fighting for 2,000 years to build a foundation that can connect to the world. Where there is no national standard, though, who will inherit the foundation of the nation? To find such spiritual people and make the necessary preparations, God is working through a new religious movement centering on Christianity.

Respected religious leaders: As humanity enters the third millennium, it is receiving heavenly fortune anew. I hope that all religious people will join their hearts together and follow through on my proposal to establish a council within the United Nations composed of representatives from various religions, parallel with the General Assembly. If there is one lofty task that the United Nations can perform for the sake of humankind, it would be to contribute to humanity’s spiritual recovery on the foundation of God’s true love.

For this purpose, I have chosen leaders of good conscience from not only the religious field but also from government, philosophy, business, culture and other fields, and provided true love education that teaches “the life lived for the sake of others.” On this foundation, I have already appointed tens of thousands of Ambassadors for Peace. All around the world, they carry the banner of the Interreligious and International Federation for World Peace that I founded. They are devoting their full efforts to bringing about the world of peace that is the fervent desire of God and humankind. It will not be long before the will of the almighty, omniscient and absolute God is accomplished.

I would like to conclude my remarks by asking that the leaders assembled here also become active participants in recreating your families and nations in true love and in bringing about an everlasting world of peace where there are no national boundaries.

I pray that Heaven’s blessing may overflow in abundance upon you and your families.

Respected Guests from America and Abroad:

Celebrating the twentieth anniversary of The Washington Times has a particularly gratifying meaning for me. The memory is still fresh in my mind how, in May 1982, I made the final decision to publish The Washington Times in response to Heaven’s direction. This took place while I was being unjustly tried in a New York federal court, in a prosecution motivated by both racial and religious bigotry.

At that time, Communism was sweeping the world like a giant, angry wave. Even America had no effective means to deal with it. I followed the supreme Will of Heaven, which told me that America, the final fortress of the democratic world and a Christian country representing the Second Israel, must be protected from Communism. It is also the Will of Heaven to build the ideal world of peace that God is seeking, that is, the Kingdom of Heaven on Earth and in Heaven, through Christianity. It was certainly not my intention to set up a newspaper company just to make money. Over the years, more than a billion dollars have been invested in The Washington Times alone, but I have never regretted this nor felt enmity toward anyone. That is because this was a way to practice true love toward Heaven and humankind.

Already, more than thirty years have passed since I came to America. I have reached the age of 82, and I feel that the time is coming for me to return to my homeland. Before leaving, I would like to convey clearly to America, the nation in the realm of the Second Israel, and to all humankind a message concerning the actual situation of God and the spirit world. This is not just a message given from me as an individual. Heaven is giving its message and humankind must observe it in this age. Until now, humankind has been living in a state of ignorance about the Will of Heaven. First, humanity has not known about God and second, we have not known about the spirit world, where we all eventually must go, whether we like it or not.

Now, we have entered the last days of human history. In the spirit world, numerous religious leaders, beginning with the founders of the four great religions, have accepted the Unification Principle, which is my teaching, as the truth of the highest dimension. They have completely mobilized and are returning to the Earth to resurrect by bringing their disciples and descendants to form new, true families through the blessing of marriage.

Particularly for the sake of America, a Christian country representing the Second Israel, the four founders centering on Jesus have each chosen 120 of their historically famous disciples in order to establish a unified front. Now, through their return to Earth, they are furthering the work of the Interreligious and International Federation for World Peace and the World Association of Non-Governmental Organizations in order to bring complete peace on Earth. They are proclaiming that humankind has no future unless we practice true love, or “a life lived for the sake of others,” which is the True Parents’ philosophy. Therefore, I would like to take the opportunity I have to give a commemorative address today and deliver a most valuable message to America and humanity on the topic,“The Life of Jesus as Seen from God’s Will, and God’s Warning to the Present Age, the Period of the Last Days.”

Jesus’ Love on the Cross, and Its Legacy

If we examine Jesus’ Providence of the cross, we see that Jesus, the thief on the right, the thief on the left, and Barabbas sowed the seeds of history. The principle is that what is sown will be reaped. So the first to appear were the right wing world and the left wing world, that is, the democratic and the Communist realms, reflecting the “right thief type” and the “left thief type.” Centering on Jesus’ cross, Islam, the “Barabbas type,” appeared next. Reflecting Barabbas, who received good fortune because of Jesus, Islam originated as a force resisting Christianity.

Having been thus sown, history entered the age in which the form of the world was bound together in four major blocs. Gamal Abdel Nasser of the Arab bloc dreamed of uniting the Islamic realm into a unified Arab state. Christianity, meanwhile, is leading a new worldwide trend proclaiming, “Let’s unite all religions.” As we observe these currents, we see that history, which was sown in tragedy, is now appearing as the fruit of good centered on God for the first time. In the Last Days, such phenomena will become even more pronounced, as that which was sown in the beginning reaches fruition in its exact original form and is harvested. It was inevitable that this would come about because of the laws of the Providence. That is, unification is accomplished in accordance with True Parents’ philosophy of true love.

If the democratic world is internal, then the Communist world is external. If the right wing is internal, then the left wing is external. For this reason, the Messiah who is to come has no choice but to appear upon the internal foundation of the democratic world, which respects God. He must carry out a movement that absorbs the external environment and unifies the various cultural spheres centering on the mainstream Christian cultural sphere. Such a movement is carried out at the end of history. Such a thing cannot be looked at as circumstantial. The nature of the original cause leads to such a result.

The Merit of the Thief on the Right

When Jesus was crucified, he died along with the man on his right, who was not only a thief but also a murderer. If that thief had not been there, Jesus would have lost his relationship with the Earth and humankind. Even though he himself was near death, the thief on the right defended Jesus. In human history, who took Jesus’ side? It was not Peter; it was not Jesus’ father or mother; it was not the nation of Israel and it was not Judaism. It was only one person: the thief on the right. One individual alone maintained this relationship. While facing death, he transcended death and placed all his hopes on Jesus. That was none other than the thief on the right. You need to know that were it not for the thief on the right, Jesus would not have been able to resurrect and resume his providence on Earth.

As Jesus was bringing to a conclusion four thousand years of history and the more than thirty years of his own life, there was only one person who connected with Jesus and attended Jesus as the one who embodied his most fervent hopes, even as he accompanied Jesus on the path of death. That was the thief on the right. The fact that the thief on the right has this position means that he surpassed the disciples. He was superior to Peter.

This is so because although he did not know Jesus’ teachings, his nature directed and empowered him to attend Jesus at the moment of death, until he breathed his last. Peter, John and the others of the twelve disciples, by contrast, knew Jesus’ teachings and even pledged to become new persons, but ultimately were not able to achieve it. You have to know that, for this reason, the thief on the right became a central character in human history, a man who represented the Earth and salvaged the future.

We need the right to inherit this history. We must inherit the tradition and foundation of Abel, Noah, Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Moses, Jesus, and beyond, and represent the historical sacrificial offering. Only then can we confront Satan, shouting, “In the course of history, you lost to Noah; you lost to Jacob; and were you subjugated by Moses! I stand on the foundation of all their victories and have inherited the entire tradition of providential history. So be gone, Satan!” Only then will Satan retreat.

If you simply pray, “Be gone, Satan,” it will avail you nothing. Do you think that Satan, who has been accusing people for six thousand years and has trampled upon God’s providence and devastated the providence of restoration, is going to retreat just because you say he should do so and you believe in Jesus? Certainly not. You need the ability to say, “I am without a doubt a person for whom God has sought through His historical heart. I am a person who has been grafted onto the sacred and holy body of Jesus.” Your name must be recorded on the book of inheritance that Jesus received from God. God’s book of inheritance records those who inherited God’s heart experienced through the four thousand years until He could send Jesus to this Earth. Then, instead of defeating Satan on the cross, you must be able to subjugate Satan and be victorious over him without being hung on the cross. You must take on a body of flesh and be resurrected in substantial form. Only those who are thus recognized as substantial inheritors can enter the Kingdom of Heaven.

Jesus’ Death Gave Christianity Only a Spiritual Foundation

Until now, Christianity has not been able to pursue the Kingdom of Heaven both on Earth and in the spirit. Christianity has had no choice but to yield the physical world, attending Jesus as the spiritual Messiah and setting spiritual salvation and a spiritual Kingdom as its goals. The people of Israel had a nation and possessed national authority as the chosen people, but worldwide Christianity today is in the position of the second Israel only as a spiritual nation; it has no national authority. Christians have no country. We stand in the realm of the second Israel with only a spiritual foundation, not a physical foundation. Because Christianity was not able to accomplish the original Will of God, who must bring about a Kingdom on Earth that is of both spirit and flesh, there is no other way except for the Lord to come again.

I want to make one declaration to you here today. The crucifixion was not God’s victory. Instead, it was Satan’s victory. You will remember that Jesus said to those who arrested him in the Garden of Gethsemane, “… this is your hour – when darkness reigns.” (Luke 22:53 NIV) You need to know that the cross was the place where the nation that God had prepared for four thousand years was lost, the place where the religious faith of Israel was lost, and the place where the followers of John the Baptist, the twelve disciples, the thief on the left, and everything else was lost.

You need to know that Christianity was not there on the cross. When did Christianity begin? Jesus resurrected after three days and spent forty days meeting the disciples he had lost, who had turned against him. The Holy Spirit descended on the disciples, and you need to know that it was only then that Christianity began. Christians for the past two thousand years have believed in Christianity without knowing that it came into existence not by the principle of the cross, but by the principle of the resurrection. If you realize this fact, then you must repent. Because Christianity began on the foundation of Jesus’ resurrection, Christianity has been strictly spiritual.

What would have happened if Jesus had not died on the cross? In that case, the nation of Israel would have followed Jesus’ teachings, stabilized and endured. Judaism also would have remained as it was. Jesus knew that if he were to die on the cross, multitudes of people in future ages would have to follow him on the way of the cross, and that they would not be able to do so without shedding blood. Many Christians would have to suffer, and even when the Lord came again he would have to go the way of suffering. You need to know that this is the reason that Jesus had to pray as he did in the Garden of Gethsemane. Christians today say that Jesus prayed for deliverance because he had a physical body and feared the pain of death. But was Jesus such a trivial Messiah? Certainly not.

What, then, did Jesus mean by saying, “It is finished,” when he committed his spirit on the cross? Jesus had come with the mission to save both spirit and flesh, but he realized that he could not completely fulfill God’s Will in a world in which there was no foundation. So, he offered himself completely in order to establish a condition for spiritual salvation and allow that providence to begin. Having completed that, in the end he said, “It is finished.”

You probably have never featured this even in your imagination. Christianity and Judaism should realize even now that the Lord, who tried to demolish Satan’s nation and do away with Satan’s kingship, and to accomplish God’s will and restore humanity, died a tragic death. When they realize this, they should repent and become one. They should become one and prepare to receive the Lord on his return.

Truth must conform to reason. The time has come for all Christians to throw off the age of blind faith and move ahead into a new age united as one, to sort out this world and bring it to salvation. You need to know that the time has come in which the term “unification” is essential.

Jesus’ Three-Day Suffering Course

What does it mean that Jesus suffered pain during the three days following his death? Heaven, Earth and Hell all remained in the realm of death. For Jesus to gain authority over Heaven and Earth, he needed to encompass the depths and heights of this realm of death. For this reason, in order to pursue the connection of life and go the path that could comfort God, Jesus needed to prevail, even if it meant descending into the lowest environment such as Hell and suffering pain. Because Jesus passed through Hell, he prepared a path by which it was possible to make a new beginning toward Heaven. Though he was cast out and isolated on Earth, and finally forced to go the way of death, he was able to leave a path of hope for future generations. That is the reason Jesus had to go on his three-day course.

Jesus did not go to Hell for three days just to look around. He already knew about Hell. He needed to go there, pass judgment and pave the way to go from the world of death to the world of life. In this way, he laid a foundation of victory on Earth, which is the world of death and Hell, and established a starting point from which it is possible to reach Heaven.

Even on the Cross, Jesus Was Concerned for Heaven
and Loved His Enemies

In the eyes of the religious establishment, Jesus was a heretic, and in the eyes of the nation, he was a destroyer of the religious law. His own clan rejected him and chased him out of his home. The group surrounding John the Baptist rejected him. So he went into the wilderness, but there Satan pursued him. That was not all. Eventually, the entire country mobilized to force him to go the way of death on the cross, the path of Golgotha.

Jesus, though, shed tears for the nation that was rejecting him as a traitor. The Jewish establishment treated Jesus as a heretic, but he shed more blood and tears for them than did any priest. Not a single person of that age would stand on his side, but Jesus was a friend of that age. He was rejected as a traitor, but he was the greatest patriot. He was rejected as a heretic, but he was the most faithful believer.

Jesus walked a wretched path, the path of the cross, where people ripped his clothing, drove him on, and forced him to the ground. That was not all. Evil men whipped and beat him. In this situation, if Jesus had been like Elijah, he might have said to the people, “I am the only one of the Lord’s prophets left.” (1 Kings 18:22) But when Jesus left his disciples in the Garden of Gethsemane and went to pray, he said, “My Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me; nevertheless, not as I will, but as thou wilt.” (Luke 22:42) This was his greatness. He understood that his body was a sacrificial offering for the nation, a sacrificial offering for humanity and a sacrificial offering for Heaven’s Providence.

Because he understood this, Jesus, while not denying his own sorrow, was more concerned about how great a sorrow God must have felt. Jesus had appeared for the sake of the nation and he was concerned how great God’s sorrow was to see him rejected as a traitor. Jesus was the prince of Heaven, the central personage of the entire universe, and the Messiah. If he chose, he could have fallen prey to self-pity and asked why he should go the miserable way of the cross. He could have set the entire universe in motion to breathe a deep sigh of despair with him. But he understood that his position was not to sigh in despair. Instead, he even went so far as to feel apologetic toward Heaven for having been rejected.

Jesus bore the responsibility to rally the religious establishment, rally the nation, build the Kingdom of Heaven and return the world to the Father’s bosom. Yet when he was forced to abandon that mission and walk the way of the cross, he did not feel enmity toward anyone. He did not pray, “Let this cup pass from me,” out of a fear of death. Rather, he prayed this because he knew that his death would add to the grief of the nation and to God’s grief.

Jesus knew that if he died on the cross, there would be an even heavier cross remaining for the future generations of humanity. It would mean that the sorrowful history would not end. He knew that the path of Golgotha would not end with him. He knew that the path of death would not end. And he knew that if he went the way of Golgotha, those who followed him would also have to go the same way. Jesus knew that an even more difficult course lay beyond the cross.

As he was made to wear a crown of thorns, and the nails were hammered into his hands and feet, and his side was stabbed with a spear, Jesus knew that these events would have impact far beyond his own death. When he turned to Heaven and said, “It is finished,” he did not mean that the path of the cross for the world was finished. He meant that Heaven had received his heart’s tearful plea of concern over the cross. We need to know that Jesus comforted Heaven by taking upon himself all the mistakes committed by the prophets and patriots and offering himself as a living sacrifice.

And even beyond that, as he neared death Jesus said, “Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing.” (Luke 23:34) God had a mind to pass judgment immediately, judgment that was even greater than that of Noah’s time. But Jesus died clinging to the nation, clinging to the religious establishment and clinging to the cross. For this reason, God could not abandon humanity but held on to us. Because this bond of heart existed between Jesus, the future generations of humanity and the remaining people of Israel, God has been unable to abandon the religious organizations and people of succeeding generations who have turned against Him. Instead, He has clung to them.

Meaning of the Bread and Wine that Jesus Shared with Us

I am sure you are well aware that God, who had been carrying out His Providence of restoration for four thousand years, could not complete His Will in Heaven and on Earth simply by the Providence of having Jesus resurrect. So He established a new testament in His word, and through it He has worked His providence to bring together His will in Heaven with that on Earth and establish the promised original Garden.

If we look in the Bible, we see that Jesus said the wine and bread that he gave us were the promise and new covenant. After Jesus was on Earth, we received his flesh and blood, and these represented the life of the perfected whole that must be accomplished. At the same time, they represented the providence in its entirety.

What does the fact that we received Jesus’ blood and flesh symbolize? This is not just the flesh and blood of Jesus as one individual. In a larger sense, these signify Heaven and Earth and, in a smaller sense, they signify the core and the individual body. Also, the flesh symbolizes the truth and blood of the Holy Spirit. Jesus gave us all this without condition.

What has been blocked between God and human beings? Heaven’s Will should be manifested on Earth and everything on Earth ultimately should be connected to Heaven’s Will. In this way, Heaven and Earth will move toward a single goal. This is what is blocked. Jesus established a new promise before he departed, so after his death the necessity of human beings, that is, the disciples who followed Jesus, connecting the spiritual and physical worlds remained as a condition. Had Jesus not died, Heaven and Earth would have been connected through him. Because he died, Jesus came to represent the conditions in Heaven and the Holy Spirit came to represent the conditions on Earth.

Respected guests, the time now has come. Heaven’s time, for which God has been waiting six thousand years and Christians have been waiting two thousand years, has come. It is the time to build the Kingdom of Heaven on Earth and in Heaven on an inter-religious, international and inter-organizational footing. Heaven’s fortune has finally arrived. Jesus, Peter, John and the other disciples, plus thousands and even tens of thousands of religious leaders in the spirit world are now of one mind and one body and they are descending freely to the physical world to attend True Parents. Without a doubt, the Unified Cosmic Nation of Heaven’s Will and the Kingdom of Heaven in which Heaven and Earth can be as one in eternal peace will settle on the Earth.

Now is the time for America, the Christian country representing the Second Israel, to stand in the forefront. I declare to the world that America has the responsibility to guide all the world’s people. But it must not do so with weapons; it must do this in truth and love by living for the sake of others upon the foundation of true love, true life, and true lineage.

Finally, I hope that The Washington Times, UPI, and other major media will accept this lofty command from Heaven and take up the task of educating humankind, taking a stance beyond religion and ideology. Please note that I have distributed to you a pamphlet containing messages from leaders in the spirit world. I ask that you read this carefully.

Distinguished guests from the United States and around the world, parliamentarians and other leaders on the invitation committee, dear staff of The Washington Times, ladies and gentlemen. I deeply appreciate your taking time from your busy schedules to attend this gathering.

We are gathered for the meaningful purposes to celebrate the 20th anniversary of The Washington Times and to look back on the historical role the Times played during the rapid changes of the previous century. During these two decades The Times has grown in dedication and distinction to become one of the most influential and significant newspapers in the world today. Its reputation for integrity and truthful reporting is unmatched. When I first announced the founding of The Washington Times in 1982, many people in America ridiculed me. Some critics predicted that The Times would only become a mouthpiece for the Unification Church, or end up as a weekly newspaper read by almost no one. Others said that even if the newspaper maintained acceptable quality, it would run out of funds in only six months.

Yet year after year, for these past 20 years, The Times has steadily grown stronger and improved in its quality. The Washington Times has become one of the world’s most-quoted newspapers. It regularly scoops other major news media. The newspaper’s vast collection of award-winning news stories, editorial and opinion columns, illustrations, and photographs is testimony to the highest standards of journalism. First, I wish to thank God for bringing us successfully through these twenty years of accomplishment. I also wish to offer my praise to all the employees of The Washington Times for their hard work and dedication. It is through their efforts that the newspaper has achieved its well-deserved reputation for distinction in reporting and excellence. Let’s give them all a big round of applause.

I would like to take a moment to explain my reasons for establishing the The Washington Times two decades ago. It was not for my own personal interest or to promote the interests of any other organization. In fact, my decision to launch The Washington Times came while I was facing trial in New York City on federal tax charges. I could have felt resentment and anger toward the United States for bringing malicious charges against me. But instead, I endeavored to serve and love this nation. Instead of seeking revenge, I turned around and tried to help save the destiny of this nation. I founded The Washington Times as an expression of my love for America and to fulfill the Will of God, who seeks to establish America in His Providence.

During the Cold War, God placed America in a position to protect worldwide freedom by blocking the attempt by communism to gain world domination. When the Washington Star closed down in 1981, this nation’s capital was left with only one newspaper, the Washington Post. This meant that the capital of the Free World had a limited perspective on news, issues, and policy, which ignored the danger of communism and its threat to the entire world at that time. In the context of God’s Will, there needed to be a newspaper that had the philosophical and ideological foundation to encourage and enlighten the people and leaders of America. For months, I waited with the hope that some patriotic Americans would start a newspaper in Washington to provide an alternative voice to the Post. But when it became clear that no one would do so, I decided we had to do it. Ronald Reagan had been elected president in a landslide vote. Yet while he tried to maintain a strong stand against communist expansion, there was much confusion in Washington over what America’s proper response to the Soviet threat should be. The Washington Times provided leadership through thoughtful commentary and objective news and information to make clear the harsh reality of communist tyranny.

The Washington Times editorials and columns supported the Strategic Defense Initiative (SDI) at a time when many were trying to block this critical development. Years later, former Soviet officials admitted that it was America’s determination to develop SDI that fatally weakened the resolve of the Soviet leaders. Finally, in 1989 the Berlin Wall was torn down and on Christmas Eve 1991 the Soviet empire collapsed after having held the world in fear for 74 years. I thank God that the Free World prevailed in this historical struggle, which truly was an ideological battle over acknowledging God or not. It is the principle that God works His will on Earth through human beings. I do not have the slightest doubt that God used The Washington Times to help bring an end to the most pernicious worldwide dictatorship in history and gave freedom to tens of millions of people!

In the 1980s, the Contras in Nicaragua, El Salvador, and other countries were fighting for their lives against the communist Sandinistas who were seeking to seize control of their countries, slaughtering thousands of people. While other media failed to recognize the seriousness of the situation, The Washington Times emphasized through its stories and columns the dangers of communist expansion in the hemisphere and why the freedom fighters should be supported. Once again, The Times’ news and information helped the leaders in Washington stay strong in their support for the Contras. Today, many people thank God and The Washington Times for the fact that freedom and democracy are alive and well in Central America!

The mission of The Washington Times, however, was not finished with the end of the Cold War. The fall of communism did not automatically lead to world peace. Nor did it mean that the ideal society that God desires would establish itself without any further effort on our part. Accordingly, during The Washington Times’ second decade it had to rise to a new challenge – that of the “Cultural War,” or the fight against the degradation of values.

God desired that America maintain its traditional family and moral values, which had fallen into confusion. Secular humanism and extreme individualism and selfishness were on the rise. As a result of these, money and material goods have become “gods” to people in terms of their values. This has led to the decline of religion and the rise of secular humanism, which have led to the breakdown of families and juvenile delinquency.

We see evidence of this epidemic everywhere, especially among our youth: the AIDS epidemic, increased alcoholism and drug use among young people, teen pregnancies and even murders in the schools. These are all symptoms that our society is still very distant from God.

Thus, ten years ago, at the 10th anniversary celebration for The Times, I defined another mission for the media. This is, that the media need to promote ethics and moral values in our society. For its second ten years, I envisioned for The Washington Times the task of contributing to bringing about a moral society. Because a peaceful world is only possible based on the existence of peaceful, ideal families, The Times became a newspaper that helped people understand the importance of strong moral, family values. Even before the term “family values” became a popular phrase, every day of the week The Times was publishing articles highlighting the breakdown in values and what must be done to return to a good, moral society based on family values. The newspaper even began publishing a weekly Family Times section devoted to these issues. Today, family values have become an essential piece of the social fabric in America, even becoming part of the political landscape. We can be proud of The Washington Times’ contribution that promoted and elevated family values to an essential part of society in America and the world!

The first decade of The Washington Times was marked by its fight for freedom around the world in the midst of the Cold War. The second decade was marked by the Cultural War and the emphasis on building families infused with strong moral values. Now, as we enter the third decade of The Washington Times, this is the time to emphasize and support faith, the time to emphasize and support spiritual values that are based on the faith of each individual. We must all understand clearly about God and the spiritual aspect of human life. Freedom at the world level, moral and ethical values at the family level, and faith at the individual level. These are the three great imperatives for our lives and for the media as well.

Freedom, family values, and faith are America’s most fundamental spiritual virtues. The reason The Washington Times is called “America’s newspaper” is that it leads the way in putting America’s philosophical tradition into practice. Of course, the phrase “America’s newspaper” does not mean that The Times serves only America for its own sake. Instead, it serves America as a country that offers itself in service to the world and all humanity.

Our lives are not just eighty or one hundred years on this Earth. We are born into this world through our physical parents, but we must know that ultimately God is our Parent. And after we die in this world, we continue to live in the world of the spirit. Is there any person on this Earth who can avoid going into the spirit world when they die? No matter how much money, knowledge or power he or she accumulated on Earth, everyone is destined to go into the spirit world eventually. You may have made great efforts on the Earth to accumulate money, knowledge or power, but these will not guarantee your happiness in the spirit world. You would do well to invest effort to learn about spirit world now, since God and the spirit world are at the roots of our eternal lives. In this sense, the spirit world is our hometown. How can anyone claim to be a true man or a true woman if he or she does not know God and the spirit world?

This is the time when each one of us can set his or her faith compass to God. This is not just Reverend Moon’s teaching, it is the providence of God. As the third component of freedom, family and faith, this individual connection to God stems from the same root as America’s founding tradition. I hope that each of you will also take up this mission of the media as your own and accept faith as the essential part of your character.

We live in an age marked externally by an explosive increase in the quantity of information. The world is overflowing with information. The development of digital communications technologies has produced a sea of information. In the past, it was difficult to get news from out of the way sources. But now there has been a revolutionary change and people can be overwhelmed with the amount of news from all around the world. It the midst of this quantity, there needs to be responsibility for the quality of people’s lives. While the media can provide all the facts, they also have the responsibility to provide values to prevent confusion and to provide leadership and direction, especially today when the entire world is flooded with news and information. The Washington Times and its affiliated media properties are taking a leading role in this regard.

At the same time as the miraculous growth of The Washington Times daily newspaper over the past twenty years, other media properties have also shown spectacular development. These include the National Weekly Edition, which is distributed to subscribers in all 50 states, presenting the best from The Times daily paper. We also have Tiempos del Mundo, the Spanish language weekly newspaper now published in 18 major cities in 16 countries throughout the hemisphere. Of course, there are sister newspapers in Seoul and New York, the Segye Ilbo, and in Tokyo, Sekai Nippo. The Middle East Times presents news and information concerning that increasingly important region of the world.

Among the magazines, there are Insight, World & I, and Washington Golf Monthly. The Washington Times Internet site is also among the most popular newspaper Web sites in the country, attracting hundreds of thousands of people each week who read more than eighteen million pages of news, opinion, and commentary every month. This is well coordinated with the telecommunications industry, including cable television operations, Potomac Television, Atlantic Video, and the Good Life cable TV that is delivered to viewers in all 50 states.

The newest member of our media family is one of the oldest privately held news services in the world. United Press International, with almost a hundred years of continuous operation, provides news all throughout the world. UPI will soon unveil a major technology breakthrough. It will have the ability through an aggregated database to collect stories from all our media properties and sort them and distribute them based on content and topic to subscribers around the world.

This new era of media, with the massive distribution of news and information, requires leadership and clear guidance for the betterment of individuals based on values and on the knowledge of God and spirit world. The Washington Times and our family of media have been providing this direction for the past two decades and will continue to do so into our third decade. My hope is that each one of you as well will embody the qualities of defending freedom, promoting family values, and strengthening your faith in God so that you may become leaders of the world.

You should take ownership of the report from the 120 Christian saints and Heung Jin Nim’s report, and prepare for life in the spirit world life. If you have knowledge of the spirit world and prepare seriously here, then your life will develop harmoniously here. First, unite your mind and body. Then prepare for registration. If you don’t know, you will be in trouble. There will be an examination there.

True Father: You are church and organization leaders. You have a certain responsibility in the organization. You should understand how to achieve success in your area. You have no weapon. We are organized to move on. You participated in the total liberation yesterday, of one heart, one mind, one body. The spirit world tries to get God to directly dominate you and guide what you are going to do. That way we can prepare the Kingdom of Heaven on Earth and in heaven.

In that way, we can inspire all national leaders, presidents and congressmen to give the Total Living Offering Fund to God. So you should embrace your nation and offer everything to God. That way you will be as you were before the fall and accomplish everything you should through indemnity. Then you will have the right of ownership. At this time, you have no ownership; it is from other people. It is not pure, but satanic. You offer it all back to God, then when God accepts it, True Parents redistribute it representing the three ages. Then it becomes public property that you cannot abuse.

It all should be offered God. There should be no shadow; but the straight shaft of light, 90 degrees. If you move one degree, you create a shadow. It is time to tear down the wall. Then the territory of the authority of the blessed central family [is settled], then your heart and mind are clear and you become a clear citizen of the Cheon Il Guk. The goal is achieved then.

It is time to pray and get more strength. You pray that you are not a true blessed central family and that your mind and body are still fighting. You seek the spirit that God had before creation: absolute faith, love and obedience, and then invest totally to create the world. This is then eternal, absolute, unchanging and unique power, and like high pressure moving into low pressure, God’s abundant blessing moves into you.

The universe is huge, 20 billion light years across. It is time to set up these ideas as the ethics of the global family under God. Under that issue of God’s protection, we set up the Chaju Guk, cut off the root of sin, and move to the next age. So now it is time to set up these ideas. That is why I have given you everything, and you need not hesitate at all. I am so and so blessed central family. Then you are in the position of a king and the cabinet ministers will support you in setting up the Kingdom of Heaven.

Set up the relationship with your children, as parents. Then there will be no more indemnity, no more persecution. It is time to move on to this kind of place. Knowing this fact, it is time for you to go to the top. Even if you visit ministers, meet the top ones. Then encourage them and convey the ideas clearly. That is your responsibility.

Heung Jin Nim is general of the spirit world. It is the time for total liberation from indemnity. That is why we have Heung Jin Nim’s report. If you don’t believe it, you will be judged. Whenever the spirit world message…

Today begins a new tradition, of those who can totally unite the physical world, the spirit world and your ancestors. This is their time to support you, wherever you go. Then you can bring the victory and give glory to God. I pray for you, amen.

This morning I have stated these things. Carefully listen and put them into your heart, mind and body. Then, everything will be possible. In your mind, even any piece of doubt should be eliminated. Move on toward absolute faith, and you will bring the victory. Have no quarrel of mind and body; absolutely understand this. Let’s go back to Heung Jin Nim’s report. He is the general of the spirit world, the great elder brother.

How about American people? What is your nationality? [Cheon Il Guk!] Don’t say you are American, or Japanese. You are a citizen of Cheon Il Guk. Forget your degree; some use degrees to abuse other people. You are children receiving love from parents. Work for the sake of the nation, world and Heavenly Father, and the animal, mineral and insect world. Have that kind of heart.

True Father: It is similar to just after World War 2, so this is a crucial time and we have to accomplish the will of God by 2010 or 2012. So you have to migrate back to your hometown and find our own nation, especially in the 2^nd Israel, America. Leaders will stand up, at the UN, and we have to renew the UN, where we have worked the last couple of years. Now the time is ripe; the time is up, to go back to the original nation, centering on the chosen people. All satanic nations should support the true nation.

It is like a war to find our own nation. Please understand South Korea and North Korea, that were divided, north and south, east and west. We have to bring it back. It is time for exchange marriage, to tear down the walls on the family level. We have to exchange Satan’s blood lineage and set up the realm of liberation. Set up each person in different stages. Unite heaven and earth, there are no different levels here. Total indemnity and liberation. Now Satan has stepped back and is even supporting God’s providence. The blessed central family should stand on the frontline, in Abel’s position to find God’s sovereign nation.

In an army, your background doesn’t matter. An army has an order and a spirit of absolute faith, love and obedience. Move forward on the foundation of the victory of the parents of heaven and earth. I prepared and paved the way, so you can run and move on. I made the tunnels, so now you can move at the speed of your car. You can prepare in order to move at a faster speed. The spirit world will support the blessed central family, and True Parents’ love for the sake of others. It is time for settlement; the settlement is the nation.

But we have no nation or world. We are stuck. What can we do to open the way? Each continent should compete with each other to move forward and bring God’s ownership to settle there. It is time to unify South Korea and North Korea. All the patriots are spread all over the world. Divided, they have no power. It has been this way since 1945. The North deceived Russia to get power.

That is why the Christian churches and leaders are against True Parents. The time is up for that. By bringing other Christian ministers, they can receive forgiveness from God. This is the first true spring in human history. There is no Satan around; whatever you want to do, you can achieve. You can influence leaders, such as the governor and congressmen in your state. They can come to DC (on the 27^th) and then go back and influence America to build God’s fatherland.

Everyday, think in your mind about how to expand my ideas and apply them. You didn’t go the indemnity history, but I did, and you are the 2^nd True Parents and can go and expand God’s territory. You can gather people in, and later they will understand it. Even an evil man can do a simple thing. It is recreation. You can be in the position of owner and connect all things to God and True Parents. It is time to offer everything to God, to achieve the goal.

It is the time to march on with the authority of princes and princesses. You have the authority to clean up the unexpected things. Have one heart, one mind, and one body. You have this responsibility and spirit world is watching you. What is your desire? It is to offer America. It is a nation into which you and many immigrated to form a country. You are the Protestant children.

Centered on True Parents, it is time for settlement on earth. That was the purpose of yesterday’s ceremony. Yesterday was Daemo Nim’s birthday, 89-90 years old. Hoonmo Nim is united with her. It was the total liberation of 6,000 years of providential history. You must accomplish the total living offering fund. The material things are not yours.

We did not yet offer the nation to God. True Parents and Heung Jin Nim are in the same position as God and Adam. It is time to offer the family. The family must be united. Did you make such a happy family, with the four realms of heart and three kingships? You should try to accomplish the Family Pledge. You should live for the sake of others and accomplish the world of shimjung culture. Then we enter the new Completed Testament Age, based on absolute faith, love and obedience.

I am thinking about rebuilding the World Trade Center, centering on the religious leaders. Each nation should collect a fund from the people to pay for the rebuilding. The world’s religious leaders should do this, in the name of WANGO. Then, if it is built by the whole world, who will destroy it or hate it? It will be a symbol of peace and the whole universe. Then the government will support 70%, and (?) 30%. Do it quickly!! The five races will equalize through this activity, including all continents. Before God created Adam and Eve, he created the universe. Don’t worry if we have no money; money is there. Rebuild the World Trade Center, centered on the religious leaders.

America owes me billions of dollars. Rev. Jenkins, when will you pay it back? [Now! Everyday!] I haven’t seen the money.

Tarrytown means “tell town”, which means the “speaking town” that will tell the world about True Parents because I lived here. I bought land here for a university, to connect with UTS. But we have UB, so we can sell this land and use the proceeds, for example, to help the young people through a school in Hawai’i.

Among the National Messiahs, who among you graduated from UTS? (one—Kim, Ki Hoon, I think) Who paid for it? Yourself, or the church? Who has children over 18? Send your first child to UTS to study theology. If you don’t, you are not qualified. When you go to your continent, go to the bottom and witness to the people. Show how True Parents do it. For that reason, go to UTS. Hyun Jin Nim and Jun Sook Nim graduated from UTS. You were first and second in your class—you were too good. But you did a good job.

I authorized the church to give a scholarship to 36 Christians to support their study. Over 1,000 students of our own church received scholarships, so now it is time to support members of other churches. You should study!

Father asks everyone if they have the Unification Thought book, and another book—a textbook about Unification Thought (I think from Dr. Choi at UB.) I am comparing the two books—Dr. Lee’s and Dr. Choi’s. I compared and asked him to make a correction. Dr. Lee’s book is very thin. You can sit down in the bathroom and read it cover to cover in 10 or 15 minutes. If you study it and make a system, logical and clear, you can move people’s hearts.

No one thought or dreamed about a woman being the president of Sun Moon University. I asked all Japanese members to offer everything to this providence. They are keeping close track and they become the benefactors of Sun Moon University, to make it a great university. It is not easy to be in the position of the mother nation.

Hong informed me that this morning, Father announced that we are now in Year 2 of Cheon Il Guk, today is lunar February 22, 2002, (02/22/2002) and the ceremony will take place at 10:22:22 p.m. (22:22:22). This gives us twelve instances of the number 2. It represents the liberation of “2.” This means that two can become one. This reverses the fall, which prevented the two from becoming one. The essential meaning of Cheon Il Guk is “two become one,” referring to mind and body, husband and wife, parents and children and God and the world.]

[This morning at 8:22 a.m., which was 10:22 p.m. (22:22:22) at Cheong Pyeong Lake, True Parents prayed. Hoonmo Nim with Daemo Nim and Heung Jin Nim were praying at Cheong Pyeong Lake at that moment.]

[At 9:55 p.m., True Parents entered the room, and conferred with Rev. Kwak and Rev. Dong Woo Kim. There was a very large offering table at the front of the room. I would estimate some 300 members, many of them National Messiahs, church leaders from across America, and local members, were in attendance.]

True Father: Now we can invite the spiritual beings. (Father prays.) Beloved Heavenly Father. Today is 2002 April 4, at 10 o’clock, the 22^nd of February according to the lunar calendar. We started this ceremony in Korea fourteen hours ago. To connect the 1^st, 2^nd and 3^rd Israels and unite America and Korea, we carry this out at the same time on the same day, as two become one. This eliminates resentment and allows you to settle here, establish True Parents and indemnify the Old Testament age, New Testament age, and Completed Testament age and resolve the han of God.

In the Garden of Eden, Adam and Eve started the fallen lineage and all human history suffered in pain as a result. Now True Parents have come and set up God’s lineage. They have made the new foundation, centered on God. Now with one heart and one mind we go forward into the age of total blessing. We move on centered on Heung Jin Nim and spirit world, with Young Jin Nim, Hee Jin Nim, and Hye Jin Nim. We center on the saints and sages, especially of Christianity, who connect all providential history, interweaving the religious leaders and moving on to overcome the narrow and incomplete character of the religious world. True Parents bring the inter-religious, international idea into the realm of liberation, with everything centered on God and True Parents. Our responsibility is to bring this into reality. For this we make a new determination and new start.

Now is the time to set up the world and move forward into a new heaven and earth, centered on True Parents’ total indemnity. This represents the perfection of Adam and Eve, through absolute faith, love and obedience. On this foundation we can eliminate paradise and hell and pave the way of the heavenly highway. All humankind can go this way to connect to your heart and ideal.

Please bless the world. Through the blessing, please connect the Cain side with the Abel side. You are the king of the Blessing. To guide and connect to True Parents, to return the spirit world this way, we depend on God. We can establish God’s fatherland. We can accomplish the Cheon Il Guk, the age of the realm of history of the denominations, the realm of the liberation of heaven and earth, the essence of unification. Father, I deeply appreciate this declaration that allows you to set this condition.

Today, the 2^nd year of the Cheon Il Guk, 2002, lunar 2/2, 22 hours, 22 minutes and 22 seconds, is the time of giving the blessing in Korea and Japan, centered on the central people, the blessed couples. In America, we offer this ideal with the four saints and four True Children in the spirit world. We receive the blessing, and each central figure is totally mobilized to set up your ordinance.

We come here this day to set up this offering and liberation ceremony. True Parents of heaven, Lord of absolute faith, love and obedience, Creator of one heart, one mind and one body, the heart of God. We have one bride, one family, under God. From there we can offer this glory on this day, at this moment, in the name of True Parents.

All spirit world: let the people know. Father, please guide this offering ceremony, in the name of True Parents. Amen, Amen, Amen.

THE 6,000 YEARS PROVIDENTIAL HISTORY

TOTAL LIBERATION CEREMONY

(Rev. Kwak reads Heung Jin Nim’s report.) As the son of True Father, I’m always feeling shame and sorrow. How I can give you more happiness and attend you better? As True Parents, through the Coronation Ceremony of God’s Kingship, I believe that you have done what you desired. But humankind must overcome more barriers. True Parents you worked so hard to take the burden from humankind. How can we pay you back? Only by being grateful and thankful for your idea. Your victory paved the way for the providence. On that foundation, the blessed couples must take responsibility. But because of us, you are still working hard. We have not gone the way of true children.

I want to offer the background of this day. Due to the fall, Satan expanded his power and ideas. God always uses central figures. Therefore whenever a central figure arose to pay indemnity, Satan put up a barrier. Satan developed his activity to attack God’s people and to destroy them. That’s why the central figure on God’s side could never accomplish his own plan. Satan destroyed it.

God could accept only Abel’s offering, but Abel was too arrogant, so Satan interfered with Abel’s side and Cain killed his younger brother Abel. Noah made the 120-years condition by building the ark. He should have offered a grateful prayer to God, but he was arrogant. On that condition, Satan attacked Noah through the second son, Ham. He felt the emotion of shame and encouraged his brothers to go the other way.

Abraham then set up three offerings, and Satan attacked through those three offerings on the basis of Abraham’s failure to divide all of them. In Moses’ time, the Israelites should have united with him when he set up the 40-days fasting condition, but the people complained and Satan invaded. The people made the golden calf and worshiped it, and Moses became angry. Thus Satan wrought the failure of the central figure on the providential side. Satan then attacked and destroyed God’s plan.

Jesus’ time saw the same pattern. The priests stimulated the people to think Jesus was not the son of God, and John the Baptist did not attend Jesus. Satan’s activity lay behind this. Satan always develops this way. So Jesus went to the cross. At that crucial moment, the central figures could not support Jesus. Satan always invades and destroys.

In our time we bear witness to the ignorance of the Christian leaders and the people who interfere with and persecute the True Parents. Atheists and communists inspired the incarceration of True Parents. They are always trying to cut off True Parents’ activity. Satan attacks the blessed couples, and as a result many of them failed. Later some turned and even attacked the True Family.

So for 6,000 years, Satan always acted in this way in order to destroy God’s providence. We understand that this is why today, during the 2^nd year of the Cheon Il Guk, a day that contains twelve 2’s, centering on the four True Children in spirit world, all the spiritual beings were invited to Cheong Pyeong Lake. We marked the evil spirits.

The providence is prepared for the central figure to bring back all the providential central figures to Cheong Pyeong Lake for this total liberation ceremony. Therefore good will get stronger from now and evil will decline. The all transcendence, all immanence, all abundance and all sovereignity of God can act in heaven. It is now time. True Parents’ power to offer the liberation of God is the condition to do this total liberation ceremony at this moment. True Parents have paid the indemnity to liberate God. Therefore, we can carry out this ceremony.

Now all blessed couples that unite with the heart of True Parents in absolute faith, love and obedience can live well. But any blessing couple that follows non-principled ideas will perish. Daemo Nim invited all the people of spirit world to study the Divine Principle. We are tearing down the walls that have separated religions. We are living in the time that is prepared for us to unite with each other. All earthly people centered on the blessed couples can liberate their ancestors, and the ancestors can become the good spirits who participate at Cheong Pyeong Lake. The devils that stuck onto the blessed couples can be taken out. Then through education those people can become absolutely good.

The four different religious leaders’ congregations can understand these ideas, based on True Parents’ guidance given on 2002.2.2 at the workshop center in the spirit world. From this moment, they understand True Parents’ activity and they desire to give the blessing to 144,000 Christian leaders. So all spirit people are coming down to support this activity. Now the blessed church leaders should unite with the good spirits to accomplish True Parents’ desire and God’s will. We will see a great change in heaven and on earth. In spirit world, we are moved by heart and heavenly ideas every moment. Now all blessed couples clearly understand. Centered on True Parents, they unite the physical world and spirit world. We make this special offering and coronation ceremony centered on True Parents. Please believe that we will try to do it.

Beloved Heavenly Father.

Today, the 2^nd year of the Cheon Il Guk, 2002.02.02, solar 04.04, is a special day for Daemo Nim. Daemo Nim and Choongmo Nim [restored?] the failure of those in the mother’s position, in the Old, New and Completed Testament ages. At this moment, centered on Cheong Pyeong Lake, on Daemo Nim and on the position of the True Children, Heung Jin Nim, Young Jin Nim, Hye Jin Nim, and Hee Jin Nim, and united with the four saints, all the blessed righteous people understand. On that basis, they receive the blessing of the True Parents. Then all blessed couples in spirit world and physical world unite to indemnify the Cain and Abel relationship, centered on the parents of heaven and earth. [They are] inter-religious, international, interracial, “inter NGO,” and are resolved to establish God’s fatherland, with absolute faith, love and obedience. With faith in God and total unity in True Parents’ original true love, life, and lineage, we can establish the foundation that we lost in Adam and Eve. We can establish the national foundation with absolute faith, love and obedience, living for the sake of others, giving and investing and forgetting, with God’s love and heart. Resembling God, we are newly born in the position of children. I deeply appreciate this moment.

Unification brothers and sisters are reborn with true love, life, and lineage. The first and second generations are now connecting to the third generation. These are not just words, but this is the fact of facts, with the authority of God. We can set up from here the foundation of the individual and family, and connect to the whole spirit world. Spirit beings can come down to the earth to move on and support in this time, the time to liberate all people on earth. This time is now.

Today, lunar 2002.02.02, we tear down all the walls of spirit world and equalize all the spirit world centered on God and True Parents. Right and left, brothers and sisters, all are equalized with one heart, mind and body, creating the realm of one family centered on God. This represents the tribe and nation and the position of the messiah. It is God’s time to fulfill the messianic position, by the coronation ceremony of God’s kingship. Everything is in your hands. You are the all transcendent, all immanent, all abundant and all sovereign God. You can totally dominate this and liberate all creatures from the depth of sin. I create; I am beyond; I can totally embrace. Come into the Kingdom of Heaven on Earth and in heaven.

So far, Lucifer and evil spirit powers come, join and support this time of liberation. Everything is done well, on earth and in heaven. All blessed couples totally understand and join together. We work based upon this ideal at Cheong Pyeong Lake, with assistance from heaven and now on the earth with the coronation of God. Now we move on to the coronation ceremony of True Parents’ kingship, and then the total living offering fund.

The children born on earth should be persons of filial piety, patriots and sons and daughters of God. Those people are to liberate all humankind, liberate all religions, and liberate political society and the NGOs. Now is the time to move on to the new world and the new heaven and earth. We declare the age of the autonomous nation and the special liberation and completion of God’s time and age. Centered on God, all humankind becomes one family.

Please bless this time and idea. On the report of Heung Jin Nim, we, the people on earth, can take responsibility for big things and be responsible for the Cheon Il Guk. It is time to open the peaceful world. I, True Parents, offer this idea. Amen. Amen. Amen.

[Father prayed very loudly and there was great applause. This prayer was very fervent from True Father, and at several points many people shouted out.)

[True Parents cut the ceremonial cake. Then True Father called four representatives each from Korea, Japan and America. From Korea I saw Rev. Kwak, Rev. Joong Hyun Pak and Rev. Do Soon Yim. From Japan I could see Rev. Hiroshi Inose and Mrs. Erikawa. From America, it was Rev. Jenkins, Rev. Daugherty, Rev. Schanker and Rev. Andrew Compton. Father made four groups of three, and each group received a big plate of food from the offering table and was sent out into the night to throw the food to the four directions, as far away as possible, even beyond the East Garden property. When they departed, Father spoke.]

True Father: History moves forward on the foundation of indemnity. Offerings are the key indemnity. It is not easy to overcome the number nine. That’s why God has less than 1/3 and Satan’s side more than 2/3. So God’s side has to pay the 10% tithe. In the time of indemnity, 10% tithing is very important. You receive a salary, and to make it right you offer money clean and fresh from the bank. If you do so, your life will never suffer difficulty. The important thing in the religious life is indemnity. Offer the most important thing in your family to God. For example, offer ten percent of your jewelry to God. Share the other 90% with your tribe, as a legacy. If you give it to your children, they will quarrel over it with each other. From now on, the practice of parents bequeathing to their children is not the right idea. Your wealth should be offered to the nation, not to your children.

What you gain in your life, offer to the nation. One beautiful tradition in America is that of wealthy people giving away their wealth to the society, not to their children. I am this way; I offer everything to the world, to benefit the next generation. The ideal of the Unification Church is to serve the world. So, in response, you should support the True Family, just as the archangel should have protected the children of Adam and Eve. The blessed couples did not fulfill their responsibility, so the True Family is in trouble.

Whatever Satan takes, I can restore to its original place, at any moment, with no problem. Of the four True Children in spirit world, three are sons and one is a daughter. They are totally united, one Eve and the three sons representing the three ages. These are principled numbers. They couldn’t fulfill everything during their earthly life, so now young people cannot think of … young people are growing in the spirit world. We should memorialize them. The spirits of babies who died are growing. They reach above 16, then, when I give the direction, they receive the blessing. That comprises 100 million couples. Even previously married couples receive the blessing in the spirit world.

The second category of couples, that of Noah, consists of couples who are only half settled. Those who receive the Noah type of blessing just lived together but were not married. Those people gather together and are blessed. Then there are the pure couples. It is just like the 36 couples; there are three different types. The third type is that of the Jacob couples. They are the seed of all human descendents. The others are impure or divorced. The central position among the 36 couples is that of the Jacob couples, the pure couples. The Previously Married Couples are representatives of the Old Testament age; the Noah couples represent the New Testament age, and the Jacob couples are pure, representing the Completed Testament age. All this is set up only through True Parents. Then safe settlement can come, in this way, on the earth, and those blessed couples will connect with the Kingdom of Heaven directly.

Now is the time to settle the three types of couples. There are many cohabiting couples in America, couples who want no children and just live to enjoy each other. They unite with the Jacob couples. All three types unite.

The 72 couples are centered on Moses, as were the 72 elders in the wilderness. In Jesus’ time, there were 72 disciples and 120 followers, all connecting with the disciples that numbered 12. In Jesus’ time, the 120 followers connected with the Holy Spirit, the mother spirit. They have no physical foundation, but just a spiritual foundation here on earth. But Israel had a substantial nation. Christian people were just wandering, shedding blood wherever they went. Tearing down their ideas and nations, shedding blood, they tore down the walls. Christians are sacrificed everywhere. They reach to the national level. Those nations are America, England and France, on God’s side, and Germany, Japan and Italy on the evil side. There was a secular spirit in Italy, and Hitler said he was like the messiah, and the Japanese emperor acted like a messiah. All of that connects with Satan’s side. And they used force.

France is in the archangelic position, England is the mother’s position and America is both son and father. The allied nations won. On the foundation of that victory, the messiah came on the earth. Jesus lost the foundation on the earth and the True Parents returned for a 7-year course, 1945-52. He was to have unified Roman Catholicism and Protestantism with a one-day education and one-day blessing, as with the Ambassadors of Peace. It is a powerful weapon. It was prepared for 7,000 years. Now in one day Rev. Kwak visits a nation and blesses the top leaders.

The physical world does not yet totally see the value of the blessing. The earthly world is the Adamic realm and the spirit world is the archangelic realm. The ancestors are in the archangelic position. The body of Satan multiplied as humankind. True Parents, from age 16, made indemnity conditions and set the foundation for victory.

You received a conditional blessing, as the basis to be reborn through your wife. Your wife is in the mother’s position and should give you rebirth as her son. She is your mother first, then your wife. The archangel could not fulfill his responsibility, so this restores it. That’s why I told some couples not to start family life for seven years. But that condition is over now; it is no more. Look at the women over there… In some nations all the men are killed but the women and children remain, carrying the seed. Women paid indemnity, the men were in the servant level and they went through eight stages.

The three-year separation period, a public course, follows the period of indemnity. You can go on a parallel line, only by the foundation of True Parents. You cannot make it yourself. Women are part of True Mother’s body. So all women are one, and all Adams are one. You all are one person. You are descendents of the archangel. Women are the bride; that is the point of Christianity. Christianity is the bride religion with no bridegroom. So the male ministers abuse homosexuality.

So society is looking for Eve, the bride. Three billion people, those who have the womb, are Eve. They should offer it to their husband. American women should offer everything to their husband, the bridegroom. You restore him from the position of false husband to the true husband, the messiah. He brings true love. That’s why the Lord of the Second Advent comes, and why women should love him above everything, be so in love with him that they get sick. Even men should cry and weep missing Father.

So in the world we lost two people, one on Adam’s side, and one woman. We have to bring them back to the world and take out the old lineage. Just pray for all people, then take out what represents each decade of your life. People miss True Parents in their thoughts and dreams. They miss their True Father, the true man. They never met a true man. That’s why all women miss the true man. But they cannot meet the messiah and they end up abused and exploited. The dream of the fallen Eve is to meet the one person, the bridegroom. [In the fallen world, you marry having such hope, but] Even if you have a family, you soon hate your husband and he turns to homosexuality and free sex. Thus he becomes like an animal, and the human race is going down.

So the Unification Church gives a clear direction to women, to go from daughter to sister to queen. The messiah’s role is to nurture women. It is mainly women who use the new technology, such as the telephone. They call all their neighbors, relatives and friends. Once they are on, they stay on all night.

True Mother is like you, but she follows the track of history. Three generations developed and were purified for the sake of creating her. Is it so? (Applause.) It required a three generations process to create her. In Korean history, women made trouble, but in True Mother’s history, which is actually seven generations, each generation had one daughter only. You cannot just have any woman give the truth. Three religious groups connect and believe that the messiah is coming as a human being.

That’s why Daemo Nim went through three churches. It is not easy to make that preparation. You do not know that, but [it relates to the fact that] three American women, white, black and Hispanic, opened their shirts to me and tried to kidnap me. I was scared. It is so important to keep purity. I can explain this, but two or three years would not be enough. But in spirit world I can share it all in a few seconds. This is a heavenly secret. Because of women, I have had a difficult time over several decades. Women, raise your hand if you like Father. Hey, what about True Mother?

Husbands: Don’t complain if you have to sit down at night and eat alone with your children. You have been restored from the archangelic position. Which is stronger, my love for Mother or hers for me? American style, the husband loves the wife more than vice-versa. Don’t show your strange way. If you go to spirit world you can find out how much God loves True Parents.

[Father talks with American women in front. About their cultural predilections and how hard it is to change 6,000 years tradition. How American women divorce their husband and hate their sons, and prefer the daughters. That’s why this country will perish.] Why do I talk like this about women? If a nail is in a plank, how do we take it out? Hit it from below, and then claw it from the top. From now I can ask everyone to participate in a special training session, like the KGB in Russia, and survive it. The Unification Church members can do anything, but the problem is you women.

God’s heart is expressed through the father of the prodigal son. The parents cannot hate the children. Therefore there is no need for hell. In America, what is the concept held by fathers and mothers? Do they put away their children and enjoy themselves? This is “couple-ism.” It does not work in the Kingdom of Heaven. The family should live together. You are blessed central families. As such you are representatives of the True Family.

God follows True Parents. Why? Because God could not get Satan to surrender, except through True Parents. Are you better than God? You should love Rev. Moon more than you love God. Do you? If not, you should repent so much. “I am here at this liberation ceremony with God and True Parents, but I am so arrogant.” Do you like these hard words from Father? Or do you want to eat the fruit of the offering table? This fruit is for spirit beings, not you.

How different you are from those in spirit world. God and all saints. You are here to connect to them, and you add [your own thoughts], then you beg to eat something. And you look at my age at over 80, and you use Father. Is this filial piety? No.

I think and pray during the fishing time.

Where is Sung Bok Lee? [In Denver.] I wonder if she and her fiancée are sharing one room or are staying in two. Actually, they should separate seven years; it is the formula way. I also want to support their children. But Father is in difficulty and is tired. I am the king of beggars.

Now True Mother says let’s give rice cakes to everyone. Now I will throw out the fruit—close your eyes! [Father tosses some fruit.] The noble class of people does not do this, but it is a special day.

[A representative Korean comes forward. Father calls for the people whose birthday is on that day, or week, and the tallest person in the room—a tie between Taj Hamad and Sebastian Heumer, and gives them a watermelon or pineapple.] In Korea at the village market, at the end of the day they give away the remaining fruit. Then (somehow this leads to the next day more people coming to buy at the market). You should develop your strategy for witnessing like they do. If you have no results, you have to think about that.

The offering is the condition to advance history.
